Dear Lycée Community,

If next week you will happen to drive down Leonidas Avenue, do not be surprised to see equipment at the 1601 location. The ‘Notice to Proceed’ has officially been executed on Monday, August 24th, and we officially kicked off the Priestley construction project! These few words do not do justice to the incredible amount of work performed by so many people, but today I would like to acknowledge our parents extraordinaire, John Vollman, Daniel Winkert and Dominic Willard, for the countless hours spent in moving the project along and take us where we are today. There is much to celebrate and much to be grateful for. Please make sure to thank them if you happen to cross their path.

We are also happy to announce that all our new French teachers will begin formal instruction on September 1st. While the Presidential Proclamation slightly set us back, we pulled through! We would like to advise our families that this cohort of teachers may still need to complete some administrative tasks related to their stay in the US, and that they may have to take a few hours off. The school administration will make sure that potential schedule changes for your child are promptly communicated. We want to thank this phenomenal group of educators for having joined our team during orientation and professional development in order to be ready to effectively serve our students.

I wish you a sunny weekend and send you our very best should you have family or friends living in the areas affected by the destructive force of Hurricane Laura. Our thoughts and positive intentions go to these suffering communities.

We hope you enjoyed last night’s virtual Leadership Café but in case you weren’t able to make it, we have provided a link to the recording in a couple of locations.
Technology Update
Email originally sent Thurs. 8.20.20 - CLICK HERE

The school has acquired Chromebooks (iPads for Pre-K) for all students. The process to get devices prepared and distributed to families has been more challenging than anticipated given the viral environment, and we thank you for your patience.

If you would like a device later in the term but can manage for the time being, thank you, and please be on the lookout for a future survey for you to compete. We want to ensure that all students have access to the needed technology to be successful with remote learning.

At this time we are prioritizing getting devices to our families that are most in need. If you have not received an LFNO device yet and are unable to independently provide one to our child/(ren) for the time being, please complete the Patton technology survey (Grades PreK-4 to 2nd) and/ or the Johnson technology survey (Grades 3rd to 10th). You will be contacted as soon as a device is available for pick up.
MAP Test Reminder - RESCHEDULED - Fri. Sept. 4
MAP testing for 3rd - 5th grades is rescheduled for Friday, September 4. Your student’s proctor will resend the Google Calendar invitation with the Google Meet link. Your student should attend this Google Meet instead of their regularly scheduled instruction. While each session is scheduled for two hours, MAP is self-paced; the average completion time is approximately 60 minutes. The proctor will give further directions to your student, including how to access the MAP testing site and their MAP session and password. Should you have any questions, please contact your student’s proctor or the person on MAP Support during your student’s scheduled time.
In order for students to correctly access the MAP testing site, two things need to occur:
Your device’s display settings must be set to 1024x768 or higher and the Scaling/Zoom is set at 100%. Instructions on how to do this can be found here.
Pop-up blockers must be disabled. Instructions on how to do this can be found here.
If there are significant technical difficulties or your student is absent, there will be a future make-up date; more information will be communicated at a later date.

Welcome | Bienvenue
