Special Announcements
Dear Lycée Families,

It is inspiring to see students back in the classroom! They are happy to see their friends, tell stories about their summers and meet their new teachers. Everybody has been feeling the promise of this school year which we are excited to share with you.

A note of thank you for all your positive messages, as well as for your patience as we normalize operations.

EXCEPTIONAL STUDENT SERVICES (ESS) CAFE

  • WHEN: Wednesday, September 4,
  • TIME: 5:00 - 6:00PM
  • WHERE: Johnson Resto - 1800 Monroe St.

The Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Department invites all Lycée families to attend an ESS Cafe to learn more about our team, goals for the 19-20 school year and systems and processes. This will include an overview of the Response to Intervention process, Special Education programming and processes, 504 plans, English as a Second Language and Gifted and Talented screening procedures. The cafe will conclude with a Q&A session.
SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVISORY COUNCIL

LFNO has the opportunity to establish a Special Education Advisory Council through the newly passed Act 274. The Council is a group of LNFO stakeholders, including teachers, administrators and families, who seek to provide advice and feedback regarding special education policies, procedures, and resources and engage in community outreach activities to increase special education knowledge and support. The council will meet at least once per trimester, with the first meeting held in November.

We are seeking 4 - 6 LFNO parents/families to join the Council, ideally balanced between both campuses. As per Act 274, family membership extends to parents or legal guardians of enrolled students with an exceptionality, other than gifted and talented. Complete this form by Monday, September 9 to indicate your interest in joining the Council. Please keep your responses under 150 words. E-mail Mandi Lehnherr, Director of Exceptional Student Services, at mlehnherr@lfno.org with questions.

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAMS
ATHLETICS
We are excited to announce that athletics is moving to the Extended Day Department! Registration for athletics will take place through Campbrain . Registration for athletics will occur after try-outs and it will be exactly like registration for enrichment in terms of procedure and fee structure.

We will not begin registering students for athletics until after Labor Day. Payment, or payment plan agreements, will be due upon registration.
VOLLEYBALL

We are putting out a last call out to find coaches: If anyone is interested in coaching volleyball or knows someone who is, we are in need of at least one coach for 5th-6th grade. If we are unable to find a coach by Monday, August 26th, our JV team will not be able to participate in volleyball this semester.

Practice for Varsity Volleyball (7th + 8th grade only) will begin next week and the coach will be Margot Marks. Please email mdupuy@lfno.org for more info.
FLAG FOOTBALL

Practice is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm-5pm, at the Priestley Campus. Consent forms must be filled out for children to participate in practices. enrichment@lfno.org

UPDATED AFTERCARE DROP-IN PROCEDURES
Rather than billing after-care drop-ins on a monthly basis, we are going to bill parents upon pick-up at both campuses beginning Tuesday September 3rd . Drop-in costs for aftercare are $13 per day, per child. Parents can pay with cash, check, or credit card. Please email enrichment@lfno.org with any questions about the new drop-in payment policy.
