This year our students have an amazing opportunity to showcase their creativity for a cause through their participation in the annual Anti Defamation League’s Fighting Hate for Good Art and Poetry Contest. This contest is open to all No Place for Hate Schools in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.
This year’s theme is centered around the words of Representative John Lewis: “Get in good trouble, necessary trouble.” What good and necessary trouble would you get into to fight systemic racism, hate, and prejudices of all kinds?
Write a poem or create a work of art exhibiting the following:
1. What good and “necessary trouble” you would choose.
2. Portraying how this “necessary trouble” will be used to help our community.
To qualify, all submissions must be received by March 31, 2021. A completed entry form must be attached to the poem or artwork. Students may enter one submission in each category (art and poetry).
Art & Poetry are open for 3rd- 10th Graders
