IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR THE RETURN TO
IN-PERSON LEARNING.
  • Due to health/safety concerns, there is no lost-and-found this year.
  • Please make sure all of your child’s belongings are well marked with their name in permanent marker.
  • Any items found in common areas (playground, restrooms, hallways) without a student name clearly marked will be bagged and donated daily.
  • Items of value (cell phones, wallets, eye glasses, etc) will be kept in the main office, please call with a description if your child lost an item of value.
  • Due to Covid19 safety measures, only parents with an appointment will be admitted to come on campus. Please email Office Manager Sarah Franz, sfranz@lfno.org to coordinate any further materials pickups or general questions.
  • Students must bring a full water bottle to school each morning - it can be refilled during the day at water filling stations around school but drinking fountains will be closed.
  • Students should bring an extra mask to school daily, in a sanitary case or ziplock bag, in the highly likely event the mask gets wet or dirty.
  • Ensure student masks are well fitted and follow the following guidelines:
PICKUP
PikMyKid - Thanks for your patience and perseverance as we all work out the kinks together on this helpful new tool. If you haven’t yet registered, please do so by downloading the PikMyKid app. Once you have done so, it will ask for some quick information to connect you to our school. If you have any problems, please contact either transportation@lfno.org or bbruhnke@lfno.org. If you need some extra information about setting up your PikMyKid app and the PikMyKid features, such as announcing your arrival and making short term changes to your pickup mode, please see this tutorial for parents.
INDEPENDENT WALKERS
For students in grades 3-7 please complete this form and send it to Office Manager Sarah Franz (sfranz@lfno.org) for your child to be added to the independent walkers list. This will allow your child to be dismissed without an adult present by ~ 3:35 daily.

Students in 8th-10th grades are automatically allowed to leave as independent walkers without a parent form on record. If 8th-10th graders go home via carpool or bus, they will remain in their classroom until their name and/or mode of transportation is posted on the PikMyKid screen.

  • Grades 3-5 and 8-10 are dismissed from the Monroe Street door closest to Cohn Street.
  • Grades 6-7 are dismissed through the Monroe Street iron gate closest to Hickory Street.

ROOM PARENT INFORMATION
Please check your Email!
Room Parents have been emailed information about an upcoming meeting to discuss Door Prize Baskets. Please check your email! PLEASE also check your email for a SignUpGenius link to log your class’ basket THEME.

ROOM PARENTS NEEDED
There are still several classes in need of Room Parents and MANY classes who have only one Room Parent. We are so thankful to those parents who have already volunteered and appreciate your support. Room Parents are often (especially this year), very key in helping the class stay connected and engaged with one another and the Homeroom Teacher. Please take a look at the La Liaison Facebook page for information on which classes are in need of a Room Parent. Your participation helps your child’s teacher and class come together for a successful year!

DOOR PRIZE DONATIONS
Please be on the lookout for information from your Room Parent(s) regarding Door Prize Baskets. The themes are being announced, and like Marché Baskets, donations will be collected and assembled for an upcoming PTO event that will be announced shortly. We are awaiting Permit approval.

THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON
Through your generosity, individually packaged Thanksgiving lunches and desserts are being provided to each member of the Faculty & Staff at LFNO from Toups Meatery and Laurel Street Bakery.*
The LFNO Thanksgiving luncheon has always been a time when our community has come together to show the Faculty & Staff how much we appreciate them in the most New Orleans way – with a home cooked meal shared and served by members of our community. While COVID may restrict in-person participation this year, it has not restricted your hearts and your capacity to give freely of what you have to share. Thank you for showing your THANKSGIVING to our LFNO Team & Family.
*Whether “herbivore” or “omnivore,” dietary needs were taken into consideration to ensure inclusion for each person.
