Hello Jake,

We did it ... together!

Boots & Pearls was a record-breaking success. Thanks to your incredible support, we had our highest attendance ever, record-breaking receipts, and to top it all off, the night before the big event, Boots & Pearls was named one of Kansas City’s Top 10 Events of 2024 by The Independent magazine.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making it an evening to remember. One that will have a long-lasting impact on thousands of people who are blind or visually impaired.

We have you to thank for that. Have a look at photos from the event.

Turning Darkness Into Light

One part of the program at Boots & Pearls was a video of people who work with us or who have come to us for services. They talk openly about the impact of losing sight and how Alphapointe helped. Give it a few minutes to watch now. It's worth it. It leads off with "Thoughts of A Blind Man," which just won another award ... this time a Kansas City Addy.

Time to Tee Off

Start practicing that swing because the C&C Group Alphapointe Golf Tournament presented by Bank Midwest will be here a month earlier this year. And in a new location. The big event happens May 12 at The National Golf Club of Kansas City. It’s a spectacular place – to see for yourself watch this now.

The Kids are Cooking

When it’s time to turn up the heat, there’s no place like Kids in the Kitchen. We hold a series of cooking classes to help younger people navigate their way around food prep. It’s all about building independence and confidence. Have a look at this video from the last session

 Speaking of Heat

Alphapointe President and CEO, Reinhard Mabry, recently appeared on the True Captive podcast, Running Hot. It’s a show where subjects answer questions while eating increasingly spicier hot sauce. Give it a warm welcome (watch).

"Being Blind Has Given

Me Power"

Ask Thomas about his blindness and he’ll admit it’s tough. But he also says it has MADE him tough. Learn about this Alphapointe team member, blind father of three, and all-around good guy in the latest edition of “Through Our Eyes.”
