Let Your Yes Be Louder Than Their No

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Do you know there are more ways to listen than simply being silent? Your body speaks through pain. And observation is a form of listening.

Over the years, and more recently than I care to admit, the enemy has tried to make me not only listen to but believe the lies he placed before me. For the past two to three years, I found myself silently wrestling with every "no" spoken over my life, even after I had already given God my "yes" many years before.

When a prophetic word I know came straight from Father God was rejected, that no felt louder than my yes. When I was overlooked time and time again for things I knew I was called to, those no’s echoed louder than the call of heaven in my spirit.

And if I can be real, each time it happened, it got harder and harder for my yes to God to break through. The enemy's tactic was to enslave me again to the bondage of lies and false identity. And I almost let it happen. But here's the truth: our YES to God must always speak louder than their no.

Biblical Yes’s That Broke Through Rejection:

  • David – Overlooked by his own father and brothers but chosen by God. When Samuel came to anoint the next king, David wasn’t even invited to the lineup (1 Samuel 16). But God said YES when everyone else said no.
  • Moses – A man with a speech impediment, full of insecurity, yet God called him to deliver a nation. Moses said yes despite doubting himself and others questioning his ability (Exodus 3–4).
  • Joseph – Betrayed by family, wrongly imprisoned, and forgotten, yet he remained faithful. Every “no” was God setting him up for a greater “yes” (Genesis 37–50).
  • Esther – A woman risking everything to say yes to God in the face of cultural limitations and fear. She broke protocol, stood in the gap, and saved her people (Esther 4:14). Esther, said “yes.”
  • Mary (Mother of Jesus) – A young girl with every reason to say no, yet she said, “Be it unto me according to Your word,” (Luke 1:38). This was her yes to Father God.
  • The Canaanite Woman – She was told no by the disciples, ignored at first, but her persistence, her yes, moved Jesus to heal her daughter (Matthew 15:21–28).
  • The Woman with the Issue of Blood – Twelve years of isolation, pain, and being told no by every doctor… but her faith said yes to Jesus (Luke 8:43–48).

The Truth About the Enemy’s Strategy

Sis, you may ask why so many of my blogs touch on identity, self-worth, and overcoming inadequacy. Here's why: because the enemy is not after your gifts, your talents, your abilities, or even your anointing. He’s after your identity. That’s the prize.

Think about it: if someone steals your wallet, they get your ID, with your name, address, and other forms of your personal identity. They may get your insurance cards and credit info, too. With this one item, they can steal your life.

The same goes for the spiritual realm. If the enemy can distort or steal your identity, you’ll begin to doubt everything tied to it: your purpose, your voice, your confidence, and your authority. It's amazing how this one simple, yet very powerful and tactical approach positions the enemy.

To successfully rob us, if we're not keen to them.

So, I share my experiences in hopes someone will be blessed by what I have experienced and learned as a result. I also want to encourage you to say, "no more" to the enemy. Your yes must stand taller, speak louder, and move more powerfully than any no from any person.

This Week's Encouragement

Beloved, don’t let someone else’s rejection become your truth. Don’t let their no cancel your yes.

  • You are more than what they didn’t see.
  • You are more than the doors that didn’t open.
  • You are more than the invitations you didn’t receive.
  • You are called. You are chosen. You are sent.

Let your YES shake heaven and shake the earth.

Scripture to Meditate On:

  • Galatians 1:10 – "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."
  • Romans 8:30 – "And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified."
  • Isaiah 55:11 – "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

This Week’s Assignment:

  1. Write down every lie the enemy has tried to use to silence your yes.
  2. Beside each one, write the truth God has spoken over you in scripture.
  3. Declare daily: “My yes is louder. My yes is stronger. My yes is final.”

You are not defined by their rejection. You are confirmed by heaven. You are assigned by God. And your YES, beloved, is enough.
