Fresh Snow
The earth was brown and dirty
It wasn't an attractive sight.
Then the fresh, pure snow began to fall
And it came down with all its might.
It covered the earth completely
The branches on the trees were pure white.
Clean and pure the earth now appeared
And it was a magnificent sight.
I put on my coat to go walking
And made new footsteps in the snow.
No one had ever walked here before
It was an uncharted path I would go.
So I thought about this brand New Year
The old has all past away.
New fresh steps I now will take
New things I'll experience each day.
For a clean New Year is before me
No set path, at this time, can I see.
So I'll move ahead step by step wondering
Where will this New Year take me?
