High Road Kitchens Grant Program
High Road Kitchens Chicago will provide neighborhood restaurants with direct cash grants of $5K to $35K per restaurant. Participating restaurants must serve at least 500 free community meals, scale-up to One Fair Wage (full
minimum wage with tips on top) within five years, and
complete High Road's race and gender equity training program within
90 days of qualifying for the grant. Get full information HERE.

Second Round of PPP Funding
Holds Improvements, Changes
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) opened the second round of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), effective January 11. Businesses that did not receive a loan during the first round of the PPP are eligible to apply for a First Draw PPP Loan at participating Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs).
On Wednesday, January 13, businesses that received a PPP loan during the first round are eligible to apply for a Second Draw via a CDFI. Shortly after that, the PPP will open for applications through all participating lenders, including traditional banks.

The former Logan Square State & Savings Bank at 2551 N. Milwaukee Avenue could see new life as a cannabis dispensary. It’s one of several Logan Square and Avondale projects for review at an upcoming City’s Zoning Board of Appeals meeting. The others include proposals to open a coffee bar/vintage store on Diversey Avenue and construction of a CTA substation in Avondale.

Small Business Improvement Fund
The SBIF program is a successful, long-running City program that benefits nearly every Chicago neighborhood. Administered by non-for-profit Somercor and utilizing Local Tax Increment Financing (TIF) revenue, qualified applicants are reimbursed for preapproved repairs and upgrades on commercial properties.

Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Program
Do you operate a live venue, live performing arts organization, movie house or cultural institution? Are you a theatrical producer, talent representative, venue promoter impacted by COVID-19?
Register for SBA’s webinar on Thursday, January 14, at 2 PM. for a preliminary overview of the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program included in the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act. Eligible organizations with a reduction in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic will have the opportunity to receive up to a $10 million grant under the program.
