Chicago Anodizing Acquires Class
6(b) Tax Incentive For Recent Expansion

Since 1947, Chicago Anodizing has supplied businesses worldwide with durable, cosmetically appealing finishes for aluminum products. In late January 2021, the Chicago City Council voted to support a Class 6(b) property tax classification incentive for the West Garfield Park-based company at 4112 W. Lake Street.

The tax credit will support Chicago Anodizing's $2.2M expansion to neighboring lots at 4118-4136 W. Lake Street. The 21,000 square foot project expands warehouse and office space and increases operational efficiency while retaining 60 jobs and creating six more. Click to read more

The Reshoring Initiative invites the manufacturing industry to participate in its Survey of Reshoring Opportunities: Which products and components offer the biggest opportunities for reshoring? What advanced manufacturing technology is needed to enable the reshoring? To what degree did the pandemic disrupt supply chains, and how did it affect sourcing? 

To answer these questions and better understand the needs of the manufacturing technology community, The Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and the Reshoring Initiative are asking industry – including OEMs, job shops, technology suppliers, and distributors – to participate in the online survey click on

Small Business Improvement Fund 2021
The long-running and successful SBIF program helps retain and expand small businesses in nearly every Chicago neighborhood. Using local Tax Increment Financing (TIF) businesses and property owners are reimbursed for pre-approved repairs and upgrades.
