The special offering during Lent (Ash Wednesday through Good Friday) is being shared equally with Camp Agape and ELCA World Hunger,

Camp Agape is a camp program developed specifically for children between seven and 12 years of age who have suffered the loss of a loved one. campagapetexas.org

BBQ still available

We have 5 chickens and 3 sausages still available from last Sunday’s fundraiser. If you would like one or more of these, they’re located in the freezer in the old kitchen. Pick what you want and turn in money to the church office. $15 each. Cash or checks payable to Christ Lutheran, Memo: BBQ

Endowment Distribution Requests

Requests for Endowment Fund distributions are due by February 29, 2024. Request forms are available in the church office. You may turn your forms into an Endowment committee member or turn into the church office.

LuMin Volunteer Sign Up

LuMIN Tailgate Tuesday - February 27

LuMin (Lutheran Campus Ministry) provides a free meal to 400+ students at UT Austin every Tuesday! It costs about $1200 to sponsor a meal.

Christ Lutheran is sponsoring and volunteering at Lumin’s tailgate BBQ on Feb 27. Click the button to the left to sign up or call the office. Shifts are 3-5:30pm or 5:30-8pm. Sign up for 1 or both shifts.

Youth & Children's Palm Sunday Music Program

We're having a Youth & Children's Palm Sunday Music Program on Sunday, March 24 during worship. There will be one rehearsal on Saturday, March 23 10am-Noon, followed by a pizza lunch.

All youth ages PreK - High School are invited to participate! We'll be singing some songs, but are also in need of readers. Please RSVP to Carleen & let us know if your kids can participate (include your kids' names and ages). Thanks!

Pre-assembly Conference Meeting at CLC this Sunday

A key part of the 2024 Synod Assembly will be the election of a bishop. The bishop election process will begin with discernment and will end with the election of a bishop on May 4th or 5th. In the months prior to a bishop’s election, each Conference shall meet in assembly, in person or virtually, and use an ecclesiastical vote to identify Ministers of Word and Sacrament as potential nominees for bishop.

Communion Class

Sunday, March 24 from 11:45am-1:30pm

Whether your young one is ready to begin sharing in this sacrament for the first time, or whether they receive the bread and wine every week, I hope you will consider bringing them to Communion Class.

This class is a chance to learn about the way we receive God’s grace through Holy Communion. Parents are invited to stay and learn and remember the incredible gift we have in this powerful means of grace.

Contact Pastor Drew with any questions regarding the class.

How quickly the new year has begun and we already have one month behind us! February at the preschool is all about LOVE and HEARTS. The children will be doing lots of Valentine’s Day crafts this month along writing “notes” to their friends at school. We have a CLLC Post Office that will be open so the children can send their mail. Our Kinder-prep class serves as the mailmen and make deliveries each day. With all the chilly weather we have had recently, we have been creating winter-themed art such as snowflakes and talking about winter animals and different kinds of winter clothing.

We will begin registration for our summer Kidz Kamp program along with our fall 2024 classes in mid-February. This priority registration will be for current preschool families and CLC church members. Registration will open to the general public on March 1, 2024. If you have questions or need more information about these programs, please contact April Peters or Sylvia Makar at 512-863-4947.

February Collection is Breakfast Items

The Caring Place Food Pantry saw DOUBLE the Pantry visits in 2023 than in 2022.

The items they need most are breakfast items. Things like cereal, oatmeal, grits and pancake mix.
