LIFE AT VMS: COVID-19 Management
by Ann Clark, Head of School
Dear Parents,

With the ongoing developments related to the Coronavirus, we believe keeping our school a place of comfort, safety and consistency is crucial.

We are continuously monitoring the guidance offered by the CDC, Alameda County Public Health Department, the Livermore School District and many other health agencies. We will update you as we learn more information about how the virus may impact schools. As recommended by several of the agencies, we are currently creating a COVID-19 Management Plan for VMS with protocols regarding campus access, supply management, program delivery, after school activities/field trips, communication and emergency care.

According to experts, containment of the virus is critical. It is imperative that students stay home when they are sick. Also, we urge you to always contact your child’s teacher or the school office with the reason for your child’s absence, including fever or any contagious illness. In addition, families who have traveled to countries with known COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days should notify the school and stay home until clear (14 days). Effective transparent communication will allow us to assess our community needs.

In the meantime, we will continue with diligent cleaning and hand washing at VMS. Thank you for your assistance with this rapidly changing situation.

With Gratitude,
Ann
