"Everything's Coming Up Roses"

Palm Beach Dramaworks' 15th Anniversary Gala!

March 14 ,2015

An Evening of Dinner, Dancing, and Celebration

More than 250 guests gathered at The Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach on March 14 to celebrate and support Palm Beach Dramaworks' 15 th Anniversary Gala, the company's biggest fund-raising event of the season.  Chairs Esther & Sid Dinerstein and
Honorary Chairs Louise & Barry Snyder chose "Everything's Coming Up Roses!" as the evening's theme, and the general consensus among those in attendance was, to paraphrase Stephen Sondheim's lyric, "It was swell. It was great."

The Gala began with scrumptious hors d'oeuvres and cocktails in the Living Room of the Four Seasons, where guests mingled with friends before entering the festive Ballroom. Rose-colored lighting added a warm glow to the room, which was decorated with gorgeous bouquets of roses that provided a visual and aromatic treat at each table. Guests dined on grilled beef tenderloin and danced to the music of the Marcia Mitchell Band. The high-octane band was so electric that the dance floor was full the entire evening! Entertainment was also provided by guest artist Gina Kreiezmar, an actress and singer who has a long association with Forbidden Broadway. She was accompanied by four-time Carbonell winner Craig D. Ames, who has served as music director for three productions at Palm Beach Dramaworks.

Producing Artistic Director William Hayes and Managing Director Sue Ellen Beryl welcomed the guests before inviting Palm Beach Dramaworks Board Chair Daryn Kirchfeld to the stage.  Hayes then presented the eighth annual "Shelly Award" to Sherron Long, an honor bestowed each year to an outstanding individual in recognition of his or her exceptional commitment, support, and advocacy on behalf of Palm Beach Dramaworks. Hayes praised Long for her leadership in promoting the critical work of statewide arts membership organizations to advocate for the arts, arts education, and the creative economy, stating "Sherron is an unflagging advocate and outstanding leader for the arts and culture not only in Florida, but also on the national level.  Her commitment to Florida's arts groups, working artists, and arts enthusiasts is extraordinary.  Palm Beach Dramaworks is the recipient of funds from the state as a result of her continuing advocacy for the arts."

Hayes also announced that Dramaworks completed the purchase of its theatre and took ownership on March 9 ─ almost a year ahead of schedule!
