Second Sunday of Lent
Everything In Between: Righteousness and Mercy
Luke 19:1-10
This Lent, we are letting the Gospel of Luke guide us. We join Jesus as he “sets his face towards Jerusalem.” Over the next 15 chapters and several weeks, we will reflect on the stories and parables that defined Jesus’ final chapter in ministry. This week’s Scripture reading includes the story of Zacchaeus, the tax collector who climbed the Sycamore tree to see Jesus. Here we see how Jesus offered hope, redemption and belonging to one of the “worst” offenders of the day.
On Sunday morning we will also commission 16 from our congregation as they embark on a five-day Pilgrimage for Understanding of Racial Justice to Montgomery and Selma, Alabama. Join us!
