OUT OF NEW YORK FOR A MINUTE

Somehow since the last newsletter I wrangled the family and went to Maine, where I grew up. My parents, sister, and sister-in-law all live there, so our trip was full of family, food, and KIDS! Maine has kind of "blown up" with people flocking there for various reasons, but for me it was home and the tourists were obnoxious. That's my role, now I guess. BUT, the point I'm trying to make is...the woods! 👆The pic above is a spot behind my parents house. Even though I'm surrounded by nature in Ithaca, it just feels different in Maine. Older. Sweeter. Wilder.

👆Oh look, something new!

Right after I got back from Maine, a thing I had been planning with another local designer finally kicked off. ToCo Design Rally! I mentioned it in a previous newsletter, but we actually got together for a second time 🙌 I wrote a little blog post about it with a few pics of some real people meeting in person. Wild times, y'all.

I didn't make as many digital quilts this month as I did in March, but that's ok. I went with a bright, warm yellow background as if I'm encouraging nature to loosen its grip on winter. It was 85º yesterday and it was 42º this morning, so I failed. Sorry.

A new single (music). It's one of the happier sounding things I've recorded in the past few years. Not sure what came over me. It's short, like 2 minutes. Back to anxious/dark vibes after this one, I swear. It's on Spotify and Apple Music, too.

My crowdfunding platform for fonts is actually picking up some traction again! I've made some nice updates, like a progress bar which shows how unattainable the goal appears, but we'll get there 👍 Adding a new variable font here soon!
