Sandbag Pick-Up Location Established

Due to rising water levels and forecasted weather, a sandbag pickup location has been established.

Location: 600 block of Bald Knob Rd

Time: 12:00PM 4/17/26

• Sand and sandbags are available
• Residents must bring their own tools (e.g., shovels)
• Residents are responsible for filling and handling their own sandbags
• Please be respectful of the area and surrounding property

Electronic Waste Recycling & Brush Drop Off | April 18

The McHenry Township Road District is again partnering with the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County to offer recycling programs for McHenry Township residents. Your 2026 opportunity to recycle is Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 8:00a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be NO drop off of recycling items during the week. Memorial Day Parade Registration Now Open!

Memorial Day Parade registration is now open! We’ve simplified the process with a new online registration system to make it easier for residents.

Registration is free.

Sunnyside Tavern Parade Float | Honoring Memorial Day

Sunnyside Tavern would like to recognize and honor the memories of our community’s past Servicemen & Servicewomen for their great courage and sacrifices.

In doing so, they are inviting Johnsburg area families and friends to please submit pictures (copy, will not be returned) of their Servicemen & Servicewomen, along with a short biography, to be displayed on their float in the annual 2026 Memorial Day Parade (Monday, May 25^th @ 8a). Johnsburg PTO Presents: Trivia Night

Trivia Night registration is NOW OPEN! Gather your friends and family to create a team and register to secure your table. This is one of Johnsburg's D12 popular adult only events. Doors open at 5:00p.m. on Saturday, April 25^th and questions will begin at 6:00p.m. at the Johnsburg Community Club (2315 W Church St). Village Landscape Waste Pick-Up

The Markets of Remington Farm: Returning Soon

This year's first Farmer’s Market hosted by The Markets of Remington Farm (Honoring Johnsburg farming roots and small town charm, and supporting local small businesses) takes place Saturday, May 2, 2026 beginning at 9:00a.m. at 3519 Chapel Hill Rd (next to Prem Magnetics). The event will continue to take place each month on the first Saturday of the month through October. Come out and visit the lineup of fantastic vendors showcasing their goods.
