Sandbag Collection & Cleanup Efforts

The Village of Johnsburg will begin assisting with the collection of sandbags that have come into contact with floodwater. Cleanup efforts following recent high water along the Fox River are scheduled to start Monday, May 4.

Residents are asked to assist by following the guidance below:

• Place all sandbags in a neat, orderly manner along roadways that experienced flooding

• This will help Village's Public Works crews collect them efficiently

• For safety, assume all sand has been contaminated by floodwater

• Village crews will handle proper collection and disposal

P.P.W.C. Hydrant Flushing Notification

Prairie Path Water Company (PPWC) has announced that they will begin flushing the water lines serving their customers beginning on Monday, May 4, 2026 through Friday, May 15, 2026, weather permitting. The flushing will begin at approximately 8:00a.m. and end at approximately 4:30p.m. Flushing will be done Monday – Friday, no weekends.

Please limit water use during these times. Residents and businesses on this system may experience brief periods of lower-than-normal water pressure, possible cloudy water and/or temporary discoloration.

Once the flushing is complete, normal water quality and pressure will be restored. Should you experience any water quality issues following this work, they ask that you flush your cold-water line for approximately 2-3 minutes.

If this does not improve the quality, please contact their Customer Service Department at 1-800-831-2359.  Click here for further information and/or updates
