Seventh Sunday of Easter
The Gospel on the Move
Acts 16:16-34
In the stories of Acts and the life of Saint Teresa of Avila, we encounter a Gospel that refuses to sit still. Like Teresa, like Paul and Silas in prison, the Spirit moves us, disturbing the peace to bring true peace, stirring us to love and to sing, shaking things up to set people free.
Our worship includes music from the First Cong String Ensemble and from Charlie Bistodeau, violin, and Christine Teng, piano.
Children’s Activities: Children and youth will stay through worship. There are quiet activity bags in the back of the sanctuary for children to take with them to the pews as
they sit with their families.
Coffee Hour: A time of fellowship and refreshments will be held in the Link following the worship service.

Arts Camp Musical
Sunday 6/8 at 10:00 a.m. – Sanctuary and Online
| After a formative week at Highlands Retreat Center, our children return to lead us in worship with a musical offering from the heart. This year’s production, Storms, tells the courageous story of children wondering whether they have the strength to face the storms of life. As they explore the Gospel story of Jesus calming the waves, they discover a deeper truth: no matter what rages around them, Jesus is in the boat with them. They remind us that just as Christ is present with us, we are called to be present for one another – steadfast companions through every storm. | | | | |
First Cong Booth at Boulder PRIDE - Volunteer
Sunday, 6/15, 11:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. | Central Park
In 1987 First Cong became an Open and Affirming Congregation, meaning we invite and affirm our LGBTQ+ siblings into membership and leadership. To live into that covenant, we invite everyone to participate in Boulder PRIDE on June 15. We need volunteers to help host and welcome people to our booth AND we need 600 frozen freezer pops. Sign up in the Link after worship or email Carmen Valdes to become part of the First Cong PRIDE Booth Team.
Pride Sunday Worship
Sunday, 6/22 at 10:00 a.m. | Sanctuary and Online
The Sunday following Boulder Pridefest, we gather for a vibrant worship service lifting up the voices, gifts, and faithful witness of LGBTQ+ people. Through song, story, and sacred testimony, we’ll affirm the beauty of every beloved child of God. Wear your rainbow colors, bandanas, and tees – come as you are, come in joy, come with pride.
| | | | Love Is Love – T-shirts and Sweatshirts Available | The LGBTQIA+ and Allies Group has designed a shirt with the phrase Love Is Love on the front and the First Cong logo on the back. We wanted to have a shirt we can wear to Open and Affirming (ONA) Sunday, PRIDE, and other events showing people that First Cong is a safe place to worship for ALL of God’s children. We are not raising funds but are just providing a way to give testimony to God’s love. If you would like to order one, click here. | | | | |
