A Note from Mayor Gordon Stone:
|
"Days are getting warmer, and the summer season often brings activity and travel in and around our community. As we move forward in the reopening process, let’s continue to be smart, safe, and confident. Stay in touch with the CDC and the Alabama Department of Public Health guidelines and continue to follow those wherever you can. Particularly, please consider the benefit of wearing masks in public places, so that you protect others that are around you. Please continue to recognize the risks of crowds and be cautious as you take advantage of increased opportunities to be out and about.
Today, we are excited to remind you about our ENHANCE initiative. ENHANCE is our community involvement program in Pike Road. During the ongoing COVID-19 challenge, we have had to reconsider opportunities for our ENHANCE programs, but innovation, strong partnerships, and progress in this ongoing situation have allowed us to continue to provide a variety of activities.
We encourage you to consider enjoying and exploring the beautiful landscapes of our hometown. Go for a walk or a jog on our 10 miles of trails, located in three segments across Pike Road. Utilize digital resources from the Alabama Cooperative Extension System to spruce up your yard, tend to or plant a garden, and learn about our natural surroundings with your family. Join us – virtually – for a special presentation of Lunch & Learn on June 11, offered as a live webinar in partnership with Troy University Continuing Education & Outreach. Give back by participating in volunteer activities presented by the P.R.A.Y.E.R. Team and other local organizations. Visit us online at pikeroad.us to learn how!
At this time, the Town of Pike Road will continue to operate with limited access to our municipal facilities through June 13. We encourage you to connect with our team via phone and email, and you can also find a variety of municipal resources on our website, pikeroad.us. If you have pressing business that requires an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact our team. We appreciate your understanding and utilization of digital methods as we continue to prioritize safety and access to municipal services.
The COVID-19 challenge continues to evolve, we remain involved in all EMA, state and federal discussions to stay aware of recommendations, needs and opportunities as this situation continues. Further, we are engaged with community leaders, schools, churches, and service organizations to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our Town. We will continue to monitor recommendations from the Alabama Department of Public Health and Governor Ivey as it relates to COVID-19. We will share any updates on
pikeroad.us
.
Thank you, Pike Road, for all you are doing to continue to allow our community to grow through this difficult COVID-19 situation. As always, we will continue to pray for you, and we encourage you to pray for each other. Together, we will come through this.
Thank you and God Bless.”
