Parents,
We ask for your help and assistance in returning the books that you have in your homes back to school. Unfortunately, even though we have been collecting books since August 6, we are still missing 2222 books and resources from our libraries and the Curriculum Resource Center.
- PS Library - 509 items missing
- ES Library - 693 items missing
- EVL - 550 items missing
- CRC - 470 items missing
We need these materials returned so we can check them out to other students. As a result, we have extended the deadline for ALL CNG School Materials to be returned by Wednesday, September 16. The form is here. We recommend parents/students print out one form for each child who is a CNG student and note down the information of what is being returned. Please place all materials for ONE division in a single plastic bag along with the form. Please note PS, ES, MS, or HS (or EVL) on the outside of the bag to facilitate the inventory of these materials. Thank you!
For those of you outside of Bogota and unable to meet this deadline, please complete this Google Form by Friday, September 11. Please note that families with outstanding CNG School Materials will not be able to check out textbooks or library materials until the materials are returned and/or the invoice paid. We thank you for your understanding regarding this as we need to provide other students with these materials.
The CNG Outreach Report for the 2019-2020 school year is ready! Click HERE to view the infographic and make sure to also watch the brief video celebrating students and staff members who have been serving important causes. Congratulations to all!
Thank you!

HS High School
From the Principal’s Desk
I have been on leave this past week for Paternity and it has given me some time to reflect and to watch my own children as they engage with Distance Learning. It has been quite interesting to see the different teacher styles and to see how one child’s reaction to the Distance Learning environment is so different from my other children.

MS Middle School
It was wonderful to see so many parents in our Google Classroom Training this week. I can tell by your questions and engagement in these sessions, that our middle school families want to collaborate in their child’s education and our children are in good hands. Thank you!

We are excited to be moving forward with this important support for students in DL and, eventually, on campus!
Thank you for your Partnership!

PS Primary School
Dear Primary School Parents!
We do not get tired of saying thank you! Frankly, the words do not reflect how much we appreciate your kindness and resilience in this unprecedented time. You have been tasked with the job of teaching your children while simultaneously trying to work, worry, clean, cook, and carry on. Most of you are not teachers, but you have learned how to navigate Zoom, Epic, RAZ-Kids, Google Classroom, and the list goes on and on.

Counselors
Dear CNG Community,
This week we invite you to think about the importance of staying connected socially, and how you have been navigating through this challenge yourself, and as a family. As we shifted form “social distancing” to “physical distancing”, and as the days and months of such distance became longer, we were all facing a new way of staying socially connected: Exclusively through technology. Here are a few tips from the Counseling Department on how you can stay connected yourself and encourage your children to do the same:
- Have a structured schedule, and build social interactions INTO the schedule. Remember that children are always watching, and if they see you including social activities in your day, it’s more likely they will too.
- Find alternative ways of celebrating special days: Hosting a movie night with friends? Having a zoom lunch get-together? Remember that some children might need more help and guidance from parents in order to do this.
- Embrace technology, but also, unplug. Set a time for your family to unplug and spend time together.
- Ask for your children’s input for shared activities. Great ideas may come from the members of your family of things you haven't even thought about.
As always, if you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact any of us in the counseling team.

Athletics & Condor Activities
Keep up the great work! It was a joy to observe our teams and activities in action this week. Continually strengthening the mind and body will help CNG maintain a healthy emotional lifestyle. We would like to challenge our community this week to reach out and include others in physical activity- send a message of encouragement, take a socially distanced walk, organize a zoom dance party, or complete a group workout. We all need some encouragement from time to time and a small gesture can have a large impact.
