Through My Lens

July 2020

We all look at life through our own lens

An apple pie is part of our American culture. The smell of an apple pie baking in Mom's oven lasts a lifetime. A simple pleasure that brings peace to the mind, wonderful tastes to the mouth, and has been one of the many pleasures we have all enjoyed. Travel back to memory lane with this musing.

  Until Next Time....

Read the poem first then if you would like,
listen to Sue read Apple Pie:

Apple Pie

My life is like an apple pie

It has many slices, I see.

I try to cut the slices all equal

But that's often hard for me.

For a large slice is my family.

I want to be with them.

But too much time with my grown children

Is not for either a win-win.

Other slices are for friends and work,

Church, and exercise too.

To keep all these slices about the same size

Is a trick for me - and I'll bet you.

So this apple pie is a reminder

How balance, in life, is the key.

The slices should all be a similar size

For that creates harmony.
