Parents,
As part of our CNG Board of Directors commitment to continued support of our Colombian Program, we have received an incredible resource selected by Astrid Amador, CNG Colombian Program Director, and Monica Arrubla, CNG Colombian Program Associate Director. Make Make is an e-library which holds authentic materials designed in Spanish for students (and teachers) from K4 through grade 12. Please read more information in Spanish here.
Thank you!

The Parents as Partners HUB was developed based on feedback from the parent community. It gathers useful tools and resources for parents to be involved in their children’s education, which we know is the number one predictor of student success!
Take advantage of the available resources: why the parent-school partnership is paramount, valuable parent education resources, school calendars with features to copy events in your personal calendar, character education curriculum, student learning expectations (standards & benchmarks), among others.

HS High School
From the Principal’s Desk
We have recently received some reports from students and parents that students are having too much homework and are feeling overwhelmed. A survey we conducted for students shows a similar trend in their experiences throughout the school.

MS Middle School
It was a great week in middle school despite our testing issues- our parents and students persevered! In classrooms, students were learning long division, defining science terms and showing what they know on formative assessments. The “Mindful Minute” hosted by our counselors was a great time to connect and we learned so much in our Skyward training, in addition to engaging in collaborative conversation at our parent coffee.

ES Elementary School
Dear ES Families,
We are so excited for this week! We are
holding Grade Level Meetings with each group, 3rd-4th-5th. These meetings
will give us an opportunity to review Core Values, discuss Responsibility (Responsibilidad), and (mostly) spend time with all of our students. It is sure to be joyful! Please see more information and the schedule in the CCN.

PS Primary School
Dear Primary School Parents!
Two more weeks until October break. It's been amazing to see how well students, parents and teachers have adapted to this reality. We are now preparing to begin a Hybrid Model soon. We know that with your support, this will be a smooth and successful transition. Dr. Habegger will be sending out more information in the upcoming weeks.

Dear Parents,
We will continue scheduling meetings to share your children’s Individual Education Plans (IEP) or Individual Accommodation Plans (IAP) in order to make sure that we all have common goals for children's learning this school year. As weeks go by and the learning expectations become higher students with Learning Difficulties and ADHD may be more likely to experience fatigue and or stress. I am sharing this article with you on strategies for easing these emotions.

Counselors
Dear CNG Community,
As we continue to talk about Responsibility and also about connections, this week we are taking the following activity from Character Strong and we invite you to do it with your family:
“Schedule some time to meet as a family over your favorite board game. Before you begin, ask aloud: What is our Responsibility to one another while we’re playing? Do we have a Responsibility to the rules? What is our Responsibility about how we act whether we win or lose? As you play, note the difference that an intentional focus on Responsibility makes.”
You can email the entire counseling team to let us know how that goes (counselors@cng.edu) and to tell us about other activities that you have had as a family and have had a positive impact.
Have a great week!

Athletics & Condor Activities
With the intention of continually evolving during these difficult times, the MS and HS athletics program has now created a Captain Council. During a normal athletic season at CNG, captains represent our teams on the courts, fields, or tables. We are now taking the next step to build a stronger character education, leadership skills, and sports culture beyond competitions. Student-athletes of the council will develop, understand, and apply strategies to connect athletics to our community. Congratulations to all the selected members of the athletics Captain Council!
GO CONDORS!
