UMW invites you to learn more about the Children's Defense Fund's (CDF) 2021 Proctor Institute scheduled to be presented online 07.20.21-07.22.21. This year's theme is "Listening to the Children: A Radical Revolution of Values." Registration is free and open to all.

Grab your popcorn and/or favorite beverage and join other UMW members around the country for a matinee movie/discussion event on Tuesday afternoon, 07.20.21, 2:00 p.m. CDT. Registration is required.

This event is sponsored by UMW's Office of Racial Justice, is free, and open to all. A non-recorded discussion period will follow the movie (approximately 30 minutes-1 hour in length).

The UMW Reading Program is a cherished tradition that brings together members in mission as they explore, share, and discuss the written word.

The UMW Reading Program offers four reading programs and features titles in five categories: Education for Mission, Leadership Development, Nurturing for Community, Social Action, and Spiritual Growth.

Select your plan, enjoy your books, and submit your record of completion to your local UMW unit Reading Program Officer and/or Program Resources Officer in early August (check with your your unit for the deadline). Local UMW unit reading program summary reports are due on/before 08.15.21 to NTC UMW District Presidents.

Pauline Ntombura of the Methodist Women's Conference of Kenya and wife of Bishop Joseph Ntombura of the Methodist Church of Kenya is reaching out to UMW units, districts, and conferences with a call for financial assistance to support the creation of the Girls Rescue Centre -- a safe refuge in Kenya -- for girls refusing the painful and unlawful female genital mutilation (FGM) procedure.
Honor a Friend or Loved One: Donate to the NTC UMW "Burning of the Candle: Minute in Mission Project 2021" by 10.01.2021
NTC UMW invites you to celebrate a dear friend or loved one with a donation of any amount to the NTC UMW "Burning of the Candle: Minute in Mission Project 2021." Our goal: to burn a candle at the NTC UMW 2021 Annual Meeting & Celebration in October 2021 one minute for each $20.23 (the 2021 UMW-calculated "minute in mission" amount) in donations received on/before 10.01.21.

DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF DONOR FORM AND DONATIONS: 10.01.21. Mail the completed donor form and a check (payable to NTC UMW with "Burning of the Candle 2021" on the memo line) to: Lela Luxen, NTC UMW Treasurer, 1217 Savoy Ln., Richardson, TX 75080. Completed donor form must accompany payment.

Donors' names and the names of those honored and/or remembered will be included in the online NTC UMW 2021 Annual Meeting & Celebration Program Book.
