THE BEST MONTH

September is my favorite, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is one of everyone's top 3 months. It's also the time of year when I stop shaving and my beard returns (until April, which is NOT a top 3 month here in New York). I've got a few quick things to share, so here we go.

👆Wintyr, finally

I finished Wintyr, a variable monospace typeface that's used on my site somewhat sparingly. I'm also using it in a new thing I'm working on and cant show you yet, but can tell you about: an iPhone app! What?! I don't even have an iphone, lol. More on that, next newsletter if everything goes well. You can get Wintyr from Public Type Works for $55. There's a type tester there, and I use Wintyr throughout that website for lots of tiny text. Ascii art Thom Yorke in 2 colors? Sure why not. I used that little web app I made with AI to make that happen. Anyway, Wintyr is nice, I think. It has a slant axis (or static italics) which I'm fond of too. Go check it out.

I took a bunch of photos at Porchfest. It was a beautiful day. Sno cone weather, even. If anyone can remember the name of my band that I played with at Porchfest back in like 2010, I'll gift you something (your choice) from my etsy shop. Good luck :p

IN CONCLUSION

Locally, October will mean ToCo Desi g n Rally gets together for the 8th time! Wild. (Thursday October 16 at Forty Weight/Greenstar if you're around) I've thoroughly enjoyed every meetup. There's always someone new, which is wonderful. Makes me wish I hadn't waited so long to reboot a design meetup. Never too late, I guess.
