The children are settling into the new school year. We appreciate the continued support from our VMS families. Here are a few updates for the week:
Although we have seen improvement in air quality, we continue to monitor the Air Quality Index (AQI) throughout each day. For those students on campus, if it the AQI reaches 100, we ensure the children remain indoors.
For our Distance Learning students, connectivity issues are sometimes unavoidable, as was the case with Comcast customers in our area on Monday. If your student or teacher loses connectivity, thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. We will reconnect with your student as soon as possible.
VMS Emergency Cell Phone
During power outages, we use texting to communicate to parents. We will include our new emergency cell phone number in a text in case you urgently need to reach the school. Please note this phone will be reserved for emergencies only.
Licensing Waiver for Toddler and Primary
Due to Covid-19 safety protocols, we have been granted a 90 day waiver from Community Care Licensing waiving the requirement for parents to sign their children in and out of school. This eliminates the need to pass the pen and clipboard to the parent, which limits contact and provides a smoother transition, especially in carline. This new procedure will begin tomorrow morning 9/3.
We typically have school photos taken in the fall; however, due to the current environment, we are postponing photos until spring.
Back to School Nights
We look forward to seeing our upper elementary and primary parents this week on their respective Back to School Night Zoom calls. Links were emailed Monday 8/31 at 7am.
Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend!
