‘Love God; And Love Each Other.’ – Jesus

Thank you for joining us online and connecting with us.

God’s dream for the world is that we live in just peace and tender harmony, fostering a global community in which each members’ rights and responsibilities are affirmed and fulfilled. This community is marked by ‘love,’ in thought, word, and deed. For Christians, there’s nothing esoteric about this ‘love’ – it is visible, tangible, measureable – which means, for the Church, it’s also something we can, and do, practice together.

The Hidden Spirituality of Men

Mondays: October 3 - November 14, 7-8 pm on Zoom

Book: The Hidden Spirituality of Men: Ten Metaphors to Awaken the Sacred Masculine by Matthew Fox

To Matthew Fox, our crucial task is to open our minds to a deeper understanding of the healthy masculine than we receive from our media, culture, and religions. To awaken what Fox calls “the sacred masculine,” he unearths ten metaphors, or archetypes, to inspire men to pursue their higher calling to reinvent the world.

Acting for Justice

Tuesdays: Sept 27 - October 25, 7-8 pm on Zoom

Becoming an ally for racial equity and justice requires most of us “to get outside our bubble.” What is your “bubble” and what actions are you taking to “break through”? Have your efforts been challenging, a blessing, or possibly even transformative? Join others on this journey in a place of prayer, sharing, support, and accountability. Moderators for weekly discussions will rotate among members.

Visit our Refurbished Library

Something missing? Everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy the newly refurbished Library at Saint Marks! Browse, relax, meet or read! There is even a phone charging station built into the floor lamp by the chairs. What you might notice, however, is that the beautiful stained-glass window is missing. No need to call in Sherlock. It is simply getting a much needed, careful repair. It will be returned in full glory very soon.

Godly Play

Online | Mon, Sept. 26, 6:15-6:45 pm

For all ages, children through adults. Please register for Zoom.

At Church | Sun, Oct 2, 9:15-10:15 am

For age 3 – third grade.

Anywhere & Anytime

A Godly Play room is a prepared environment arranged with care and intention. In our homes, even tiny things can support our spiritual lives. An object from nature, candle, book, paper and pens, photos, mementos, prayer beads, and even doodles can be intentionally placed to invite children or adults to awareness and engagement. Just dusting and replacing an object we’ve placed before can bring renewed energy to our spiritual practices.

Godly Play is an approach to spiritual engagement, learning and discovery based in sacred stories of Christianity, spiritual practices, and Montessori principles. Questions? Contact Monica Kruger, Godly Play Coordinator.

Thanksgivings

For the past and present students awarded Lionheart Scholarships by Minneapolis College

From the Book of Common Prayer; For church musicians and artists, O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven: Be ever present with your servants who seek through art and music to perfect the praises offered by your people on earth; and grant to them even now glimpses of your beauty, and make them worthy at length to behold it unveiled for evermore; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
