WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Effective January 1, 2019, the administrator of the Mount Sinai Health System’s Employee Health Benefit Plan has transitioned from Empire BlueCross BlueShield to United Medical Resources “UMR”, a division of United Healthcare. The “Top Tier” is a network of Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) hospitals and employed and community-based health care professionals that provide health care services to MSHS faculty and staff, and their eligible dependents, at a level of coverage that has the least out-of-pocket cost to MSHS employees.
Please note that effective January 1, 2019, all current Top Tier network providers have been migrated and loaded in UMR’s systems for the MSHS Employee Health Benefit Plan only and appropriate fee schedules will also be loaded and claims will be ready to pay at that time.
WHAT IS THE IPA DOING?
MSIPA is partnering with Mount Sinai Health Partners (MSHP) to provide you with a Quick Reference Guide (QRG) to the 2019 UMR Top Tier program. The 2019 UMR QRG will address rates, benefits, copays and deductibles, ID card images, claims submission, prior approval processes information and other relevant information.
We encourage you to instruct your staff to check member ID cards at each visit so that accurate copays are charged.
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOU?
No action on your part is needed at this time.
