A yearbook ad is the best way to commemorate this big year for your senior. Reserve a space for your child as a special gift for this year and for years to come.

Visit the site and use our school code: 25698. Click on "Yearbook Ads" in the top right corner and select the size that's right for your needs.
After you select the size of your ad, choose the option to create your ad through the website. It's easy! Purchase an ad only when you are ready to create it. The final deadline is Thursday, February 1.

Remembering Coach Limbert: There will be a memorial event on Wednesday, January 10 to remember Tim Limbert, who coached the boys' AMHS Cross Country Team prior to his unexpected death in May 2022. The event will begin at 12:30 pm at the large oak running tree in the middle of the junior parking lot. Mrs. Limbert, Carter Limbert '22, Whitney Limbert '26, and other family members and teammates will be in attendance. All staff and students are welcome to come out and support the Limbert family. | |

10th Grade Night - Wednesday, January 17 from 6-7 pm
The school counseling department will host 10th Grade Night on Wednesday, January 17 for students and parents in the Lecture Hall. Also, emails went out last week to sophomore parents about this event with links to sign up for your child's IGP. These will begin January 18 and go through February. Check your email!

The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund is ready to accept applications for the 2024-25 school year! Any student who meets the five straightforward eligibility criteria qualifies for the scholarship. Essays or letters of recommendation are not required, and every student who qualifies WILL receive a scholarship.
The first application deadline is Friday, Jan. 19 at 11:59 pm. If you’re not ready to apply by then, there are four additional application deadlines this spring. Please contact the fund team if you have any questions and feel free to share this email with anyone who might benefit from the Meeting Street Scholarship Fund. Congratulations to the AMHS Varsity Wrestling team! They hosted the inaugural Raptor Rumble tournament at AMHS on Saturday with nine other teams from all over the Lowcountry and won 1st place after going undefeated on the day and defeating Bridges Prep in the championship match.

Black History Month Essay Contest
The Cynthia Graham Hurd/St. Andrews Library is sponsoring their annual Black History Essay Contest, which is open to all Charleston-area students in grades 6 through 12. Winners will receive a trophy and $50 Amazon gift card. Learn more.

Opportunity for the Class of '27!
Kids On Point is teaming up with Charleston Civil Rights and Civics (C3) for the second year to offer an immersive civil rights experience for high school students completing their freshman year. This year's session is scheduled from June 24 to June 28, 2024. Students will explore key sites in the Lowcountry, delving into our region's history of slavery and civil rights. The program will conclude at the Charleston Board of Elections, emphasizing the importance of the election process, voter registration, and will feature a special graduation ceremony.

The Xi Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is sponsoring an oratorical contest on Saturday, February 3, 2024 beginning at 1 pm at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. It is open to ALL middle school and high school students who live within the tricounty (Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester) area. The Summer 2024 Bank of America Student Leaders Program applications are now open for high school juniors and seniors. This is a PAID Internship
Scholars will have the opportunity to work with local non-profits to address pressing societal issues, gain understanding on how nonprofits, governments, and businesses collaborate to meet local needs. Students will will also participate in a national Student Leaders Summit in Washington, DC!

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION:
Summer internship opportunity for HS Students interested in Biomedical Science deadline to apply is January 17, 2024!
- The internship is 10 weeks (May 27 - August 3, 2024)
- Interns receive a $650 stipend each week to cover the cost of participation and travel to and from Nashville, TN.
- Vanderbilt dormitories are available to students through the Office of Conferences.
- Rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
The program is supported by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases of the National Institutes of Health.

Spend two weeks in Spain! Experience an unforgettable two weeks in Spain to visit and explore Madrid, Sevilla, Malaga and Toledo. Teenagers who want to increase their Spanish skills, looking at minoring or majoring in Spanish or just interested in going with a group of friends this program is for you.
You will stay with a host family with host siblings while we are in Madrid and then stay in hostels as we travel south to the other cities. You will indulge in traditional Spanish cuisine, see all the must see sights in the capital and other major cities, attend spanish classes at a local spanish school as well as master the Escape Room, zip line through the outskirts of Madrid, visit one of the most beautiful beaches in Malaga, explore an underground cave called, “la cueva del Tesoro,” and so much more. Volunteer for MLK Day of Service - Monday, Jan. 15, 2024
Join the South Carolina Aquarium, The Citadel Near Center for Climate Studies, Charleston Parks Conservancy, Carolina Ocean Alliance and The MARSH Project, Kids Teaching Flood Resilience and local community partners for an MLK Day of Service litter sweep and food drive at Harmon Field and Hagood Avenue in Charleston on Monday, January 15 from 2-4 pm. Please bring a nonperishable foot item that will be donated to the One80 Place shelter. Register for the event and find more information at this link.
