What is a Penny War?
A Penny War is a competitive fundraising game that challenges each grade to earn the most points during a one-week time frame.
Each grade level will have two jugs in the cafeteria—a plus (+) jug and a minus (-) jug. The object is to get as many points as possible by putting bills and coins in the + container. But other grade levels can deduct points by putting bills and coins in the - container.
The value of + bills and coins collected by a grade level will be tallied as positive points. The value of - bills and coins will be deducted as negative points. Each grade will be tallied daily and the top three grades will be named during afternoon announcements.
The grade level with the highest point total each day wins a dress down day and a $25 Amazon gift card.
The grade level with the highest points for the week wins a Kona Ice Truck treat!
