A Message Regarding Student Wellbeing
As matters related to immigration have come into focus in government and the media this week, on Tuesday, I shared a letter with our community reaffirming:
- CCSD93’s continued commitment to serving all students equitably, regardless of their background.
- Our expectation that all members of our community are treated with the utmost respect while in our buildings.
- Our commitment to adhering to student privacy laws with regards to requests from outside organizations, including law enforcement.

Please Take Strategic Plan Survey 1/21-1/31
CCSD93 strives to continuously improve as an organization. In order to do so, we seek stakeholder feedback in a variety of ways. One key method is CCSD93’s Strategic Plan Survey, which parents, staff and 4th-8th grade students are asked to take.
Parents received messages this week with a link to the survey asking that you take it by January 31. Please complete the survey at www.ccsd93.com/spsurvey when you're able!
By sharing your perspective on this school year, you’ll helps us to improve while measuring the progress of our 2023-2028 Strategic Plan.

Jay Stream Students Create Documentaries Delving Into Issues Critical to Their Community
Beginning in October, 8th grade students in Jay Stream’s advanced humanities class began working on C-SPAN’s annual StudentCam project, a timely assignment that challenged them to create a documentary and accompanying infographic addressing a message to the president upon Inauguration Day. Their goal was to identify an issue they believe is critical to their community, propose actionable solutions and consider how these actions could be implemented after taking office. Students conducted thorough research, including identifying, contacting and interviewing an expert on the topic while exploring it from multiple perspectives.
Today, they showcased their work in the school’s Innovation Center to parents, CCSD93 staff members and local dignitaries. The guests listened, asked insightful questions and engaged in meaningful dialogue with the students. The students’ hard work, thoughtfulness and confidence were apparent through their presentations.
Among the topics addressed were inflation, mental health and climate. The completed documentaries will be submitted to an online competition, where students will have the chance to win cash prizes. Way to go, Jayhawks!
