A Night at the Races is one of the NW Connection Chamber's most popular annual outings. Hawthorne Race Course, always a great place to have dinner or grab a cold beer and tacos with friends and family, just got better.

Hawthorne is on its way to emerging as the country's newest combined race track and casino operation, thanks to a $400-million construction project underway. Owned and operated by the Carey Family for the past 130 years, the course is the fifth oldest track in the nation and the oldest sporting venue in Illinois.

Once completed, the $400-million construction project will make the historic race track in Stickney, Illinois, a major player in the Midwest gaming market and the national thoroughbred and standardbred racing world.

TASA Coffee received a $230,685 grant from the Neighborhood Opportunity Fund for interior renovations and buildout for a new neighborhood cafe at 4136 W. North Avenue.

Erected in 1911, Chicago City Hall has elegant marble staircases and historical bronze tablets. It greets visitors with four granite relief panels depicting City government: playgrounds, parks, schools, and water supply. Home to the Mayor's office and those of the City Clerk, City Treasurer, Aldermen, and the Chicago City Council Room, it's open to the public during the summer.

The Puerto Rican Cultural Center (PRCC) is a designated Regional Business Center. In 2020 eight Centers were opened by The City of Chicago Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection (BACP) to provide local and underserved small businesses a range of information and resources. The Center is located inside ¡WEPA! Mercado del Pueblo (Market of the People), an incubator initiative for entrepreneurs launched by PRCC in late 2020.
