I hope everyone is enjoying the snow days! While I did not see a plow until late Monday night, I am so thankful we did not lose power. The crock pot has seen more of a work out than I have for the last few days, but I have walked to Langley several times since Jonas's visit, and they have been working hard to clear the parking lot. There is just so much snow. And speaking of snow . . . remember those five snow days we needed in order to start school before Labor Day? Well, we have officially reached the
magic number!
Please keep in mind that FCPS will need to apply for a waiver from the state, but Dr. Garza and the School Board have already indicated support. With the proposed pre-Labor Day calendar, students will start school Mon, Aug 29, and end on Fri, June 16. Most of the calendar would remain the same as the already-approved 2016-17 calendar. Now let
'
s keep our fingers crossed for no more snow days! I think I
'
m good for 2016. And, before you ask, we will not end the year early if we do not use all 12 of our "built-in" snow days.
