Welcome back, Bobcat! We hope you've had a refreshing break and are ready to get this semester rolling. Student and Community Involvement's staff and students have planned some great programs to help you get involved on campus, meet new friends and just have fun in general. So, we hope you bring your friends out to events such as the Student Org Fair, Late@Lane, Super Bowl Party, Joan Soriano and more!

Also, our Greek life fraternities and sororities are gearing up to recruit members. Sorority Life, Alpha Phi Omega and Sig Tau are all holding recruitment events this week. If you are interested in social, philanthropy and service, we encourage you to come out to meet the members and what explore Greek life offers. Maybe, you will find your niche!

And finally, if your New Year's resolution is to get healthier, the Lane University Center's AstraZeneca Fitness Center is open daily to help you burn some calories. Remember, those summer bodies are built in the winter.

Wishing you a great semester,

COAT Program fights opioid crisis in Western Maryland

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - A local wellness and recovery center has been running a program to help fight the opioid crisis in Western Maryland.

The Soul Haven Wellness and Recovery Center in Hagerstown offers most social services such as help with housing or disability checks, but officials said they now have a program focusing solely on fighting addiction. The program came to fruition five months ago when Frostburg State University partnered with AmeriCorps under the Conquering Opiate Abuse Together (C.O.A.T.) grant. > more
