1.6 Million Birds Culled for Avian Influenza in February
Avian influenza led to the death of more than 1.6 million captive birds last month in the eastern United States.
By far the largest affected operation was a farm with 1.2 million chickens in New Castle County, Delaware.
The disease was also flagged in five turkey farms in Indiana, two poultry farms in Kentucky, six backyard flocks and one collection of captive wild birds.
