Dr. Cassidy Named AMHS Teacher of the Year!
Academic Magnet High School is excited to recognize our 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year, Dr. Krista Cassidy! As shared by an AMHS colleague, "Dr. Cassidy is the most logical person I know. She takes problems head-on in a team-spirit fashion and does her best to come to logical conclusions that help everyone involved. She took over maternity leave for multiple colleagues and went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic work-free break with our kids. She is the best teammate, leader, and water-girl. Our math department is a fine-tuned/well-oiled machine because of her. She is not afraid to speak her mind, especially because her mind is logical, moral, and comes from her heart.”
Congratulations to Dr. Cassidy!

Personal Electronic Devices No Longer Allowed During the School Day
With the start of the new year began the implementation of Charleston County School District’s new policy, Prohibition of Personal Electronic Devices During the School Day (Policy JICJ). Effective January 6, 2025, all CCSD students, from kindergarten through 12th grade, must have their personal electronic devices, such as cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and similar items, turned off and securely stored during the school day. This policy, mandated by state law, is designed to create a focused and distraction-free learning environment that supports student success. The updated school procedures for Academic Magnet High School are available on the school webpage at this link.

First of all, what is Camp Saint Christopher? We are an Episcopal Summer Camp located on beautiful Seabrook Island, South Carolina. All are welcome regardless of your spiritual or religious background! With 314 acres of barrier island property, there’s always an adventure to be had! Perhaps you’ll sail or swim on the beach or launch a kayak into the marsh. Maybe you’ll lead a hike on one of our trails (we have 5 miles to choose from!) or host a campfire under the stars. And at the end of the day, you can watch the sunset from the boardwalk or from one of our beachfront cabins with all your new camp friends. Consider joining the team for a fun and rewarding summer leadership opportunity that will also help you reach your volunteer service hour requirements! Learn more at this link! |
