Congratulations to Hillview Student Reporters
T he Hillview Broadcasting team of Kurt Frewing, Ascher Lafayette, and Aaryan Patel won 3rd place nationally in the Student Television Network (STN) news feature category.

These reporters produced a story about Hllview 6th-grade student, Lucy Lunt, on the assigned topic, “Role Models”. Following a strict timeline and list of requirements, they told her story authentically while showcasing their emerging talents.

This marks the third time Hillview Broadcasting has placed in the top 5 in the country and is the highest finish to date for Hillview!

STN has contests for middle and high schools across the United States where both public and private schools compete for top honors.

Students are given just six days to prepare, film, and edit a story fitting the assigned topic. They are judged on their storytelling, shot composition, interview quality, and newsworthiness among other technical aspects.

Note - our Vimeo archive containing years of our student portfolio work was recently taken down due to a copyright dispute over our channel.
