November Calendar Update - as of 10/15/20:

  • St. John Trunk or Treat on October 31 has been cancelled.
  • 50's Day has been changed to Thursday, November 5th.

St. John ECC Christmas Program

We are moving forward with plans for a LIVE Christmas Program on December 3rd and December 4th, but we need permission from you to solidify our plans. FAMILY PUMPKIN DECORATING

Join us on Saturday, October 17 from 2-3 PM for a fun time decorating pumpkins with your family!

Cost - $10 per family (all proceeds support mission work)
We will have paint, foam, modge podge, and all other kinds of accessories for decorating pumpkins - both for kids and adults!

**This event is outdoors**
Location on campus: small parking lot off of Spring Cypress.
(This event is sponsored by St. John Sisters in Service.) 
All students with birthdays in the month of October will be honored during their Music & Motor Skills classes on Oct. 20th & 21st. A picture will be taken to include in their memory books during the class.

C.O.F.F.E.E. will be set up in the front parking lot of the school on Oct. 20th & 21st. After you drop your children off, please pull around to the right and grab a cup of coffee on us!

Your coffee choices are: Pumpkin Spice, Breakfast Blend, and Toasted Hazelnut (Decaf).
Your creamer choices are: Pumpkin Spice, Butterscotch, and Salted Caramel Chocolate.
We will also have Chai Tea available.

Along with your cup of coffee/tea, you will be handed a small bag with your choice of creamer (2 containers), a stirrer, sweetners (sugar, Sweet 'n Low, and Splenda) and a couple of treats.

Stop by and let us treat YOU!

Pictures will be taken outside next Thursday and Friday, October 22 and 23. It will be Fall themed with a hay bale, pumpkins and mums.

If you would like sibling pictures, please arrive by 8:30 AM, park, and walk your children to the photo location.

When finished at the photo location, please get back in your car to go through the car line to check in and drop off your children for school. Thank you!

Luz teaches our youngest class - the 18 mo-old class. She has been a member of our staff for 10 years and was just recognized for her service! She is loving and is able to communicate with children who may not even have a vocabulary yet. Ms. Luz, thank you for your patience and love!

Rhianne has been with our staff for 3 years. She started in our Stay 'N' Play and Summer programs, and now assists Ms. Luz with the 18 mo-old class. Rhianne brings energy, patience, and a desire to serve her class in everything she does. Thank you, Rhianne!

Amber is in her second year in the 18 mo-old class. She started as an assistant and accepted a teaching position for this school year. The children love being around her because of the creativity and love she shares with them. Thank you, Ms. Amber!

REMINDERS:
We appreciate your cooperation with St. John ECC in keeping any child(ren) home exhibiting any of the following symptoms:
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chills/ Shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain or aches
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting or nausea
  • Known close contact with a person who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19
If a child is in our care with symptoms, it may be necessary to close the classroom until test results can be obtained. Positive results will require a quarantine period for all children and staff associated with that classroom.
Upcoming Events:

Join in our Fall semester Mission Project of giving a gift to children across the world! Operation Christmas Child boxes and instructions will be available to pick up in our car rider line starting October 21st. You can fill the boxes and return them to us through November 13th during the morning drop-off time. We will take the boxes to Fairfield Baptist Church later that day.

If you prefer, or if you aren't ready to bring your box back by 11/13, you can fill your box according to the instructions and deliver it yourself to Fairfield Baptist, 27240 US 290, Cypress, Texas 77433, from November 16 - 23.

Our SLAM team will take the lead on teaching your children safe habits and procedures during the week of October 26-30. Highlights of the week include: when to cal 9-1-1; Stop, Drop & Roll; Stranger Danger; Bicycle Safety; Swimming Safety.
