Saint John the Baptist Catholic School Newsletter
Dear SJB Families,
Greetings!
We are coming off a relaxing Fall Break and a short week, but there is still so much wonderful learning happening in our classrooms! This week, Father Paolo and Father Theodore attended priestly professional development with other diocesan priests, so we celebrated only one Mass together. We used that opportunity to pray an All-School Rosary instead.
Our 8th graders led the Rosary, as is our beautiful SJB tradition, and they did an exceptional job. We were a little worried about the weather, but God blessed us with a perfect morning to honor His Mother! As we focus on the virtue of gratitude this week, we are especially thankful that our Lord, even in His moment of greatest suffering, thought of us and gave His Mother to the whole Church.
See you at Mass!

| | | | “Eagle's Fleet” Seeking Volunteer Drivers | |
Many of our St. John’s School families have parents who both work or who stay home with small children and are unable to help with driving their students to special events. We are seeking trustworthy volunteers who are willing to be contacted by teachers to drive students of any grade to these outside learning experiences. If you have some availability during school hours or know a youthful grandparent or someone else who would be a trustworthy driver of our students, please pick up the required volunteer paperwork that is available in the school office. Thank you! | | | | Virtue of the Week - Gratitude

Definition: Having a thankful disposition of mind and heart.
In Practice
- I express gratitude to God in daily prayer.
- I thank others, even for things they do on a daily basis.
- I recognize the blessings in my life, even during difficult times.
- I refrain from complaining by trying to replace negative thoughts with grateful ones.
Prayer for :
Dear Jesus, thank You for Your love for me and for providing for me in abundance. Help me to live my life with a spirit of gratitude. When I am tempted today to dwell on the negative, open my eyes to the good things You have given me and the good things You are doing.
