It is safe for me to rest.
Early fall can be a colorful juxtaposition of dreamy, slowly tumbling leaves and rustling, bustling flurries of activity.
We can simultaneously feel energized and inspired by the start of the academic year (and the new season and the fact that the year will soon be ending and the fact that the holidays are fast approaching etc etc etc), and want to simply curl up with a chunky soft blanket in a cozy nook as the afternoons turn cooler.
This week's affirmation is a reminder that we can be both productive and restful. We can embark on new autumn adventures and projects while also honoring our very human need for melancholy and periods of inactivity.
Our ability to rest and let our roots grow deep will feed our future growth. When we pause for quiet afternoons, leisure time, and soul nourishment, we are connecting with a deep and important part of ourself.
Rest is not a waste of time. Rest is sacred.
So, whether your version of fall restfulness is an afternoon in the hammock with a mug of apple tea, an hour spent exploring your local pumpkin patch, or a cozy evening by the bonfire, this week's affirmation is a reminder to cherish your downtime.
It is not only safe for you to rest, it is vital for you to do so.
Sending you lots of love,
Aimee
