Tickets Still Available for International Dinner This Saturday | |
The AMHS International Dinner will take place this Saturday, October 26th, from 6-8pm in the AMHS cafeteria. Delicious food from 20 different countries will be served at this wonderful community building event!
This special Magnet tradition is open to all AMHS families and supporters. In addition to featuring food from around the globe, it will also showcase musical performances by our very own Magnet students.
Tickets are available for pre-purchase until this Thursday at this link. Scroll to the bottom of the Spirit Store page to purchase tickets. Tickets will also be sold at the door, but pre-purchase is recommended to avoid a wait upon entry.
The entrance to the school that evening will take place through the bus loop gates, rather than via the main school building.

CCSD's Superintendent, Ms. Anita Huggins, and our district's Associate Superintendents, Drs. Williams and Eppelsheimer, and Executive Directors, Dr. Knauer and Mr. Cumback served a wonderful lunch to AMHS faculty and staff on Friday to celebrate the school's 2024 National Blue Ribbon Award. Graduation Date: Save the Date! CCSD has set the date for AMHS graduation as Friday, May 23, 2025 at 3 pm. Graduation is held at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. | |

Congratulations to the Girls' Varsity Swim Team | |
The AMHS varsity women's swim team finished in 3rd place last week at the SCHSL AAA State Championship. Isa Jickling '26 earned a spot on the podium in both of her indivdual events with 2nd place in the 500 free and 3rd place in the 200 free. The 200 Free Relay team took 1st place: Lily Burnette '25, Judith Suttle (SOA), Isa Jickling, and Whitney Gwisc '27. The 400 Free Relay team was also on the podium in 3rd place: Lily Burnette, Leah Whipkey '28, Isa Jickling, and Whitney Gwisc. | |

Members of the AMHS Girls Volleyball Team earned regional honors: Alaina Jarrett '25 was named the Region VI-AA Player-of-the-Year with Helina Lloyd '26, Valerie Leclerc '27, and Mazie Jarrett '27 earning All-Region VI-AA honors. | |
AMHS Students Named SCACA North-South Selections | |

Chloe Trowman '25 (Women's Tennis) and Akiera Sanchez '25 (Women's Golf) were named as SCACA North-South selections and will represent the South Team in their upcoming events. These honors are notable because they are only open to seniors but represent the best of the best players across all classifications in South Carolina. Being selected for these events is remarkable. | |

One80 Place, a facility that provides support, shelter, food, and resources for homeless people in the community, is seeking student involvement in a new program called Students Striving To End Homelessness! Students Striving To End Homelessness is a dynamic leadership and community engagement program that will allow high school students to advocate for One80 Place and its mission to end homelessness while gaining leadership skills, community service hours, college/career readiness and so much more. The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund provides up to $10,000 per year in college scholarships for high-achieving South Carolina students with a demonstrated financial need (who will be attending an eligible South Carolina college/university).

Spend Spring Break 2025 in Costa Rica! Raptors are invited to consider this amazing opportunity to explore the ecology of Costa Rica during spring break of 2025. Our Lady of Mercy offers volunteer opportunities with various community events, a clothing closet, Downtown soup kitchen, food pantry and after school activities. There are two locations that are welcoming volunteers, one is Downtown on America Street and the other is the primary campus located at 1684 Brownswood Road on John Island. All volunteers have orientation sessions and additional online training if they are working with the afterschool programs. The minimum age required to volunteer is 16.
