It is almost time for the 1st Quarter Ice Cream Party. Thursday, November 9th (Sophomores and Seniors) and Friday, November 10th (Freshmen and Juniors).
As you can imagine, supplying and serving ice cream to every student at the school is quite an undertaking. If you can help serve or send in any supplies, PIE would greatly appreciate the support!

Good Afternoon Academic Magnet Seniors,
As you are applying for your colleges and universities of interest, some will begin college entrance interviews. Please note that a majority of colleges DO NOT require interviews for admission. If your prospective college/university does, however, this opportunity is for you.
For the first time we will be holding a college interview workshop. We have 6 generous college representatives volunteering to conduct mock interviews on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 2:00-3:30PM.
I have added a link to the Sign Up Genius below. There are 36 slots available making this a first come first serve event. The interviews will be 10-15 minutes each so please be on time.
Half of the representatives will be in person. The other half will be virtual. I will send a Zoom link to students who will be interviewed via Zoom. For those who will be in person, I will let you know your location next Tuesday.

2024 AMHS Career Symposium - February 16
We are in the process of collecting names and contacts for our speakers. We will need approximately 40 professionals with a wide variety of professions. Please send any speaker recommendations and contacts to me as I am currently collecting our list. I always rely on the AMHS parent population as our parents are so talented and are dependable as speakers due to their attachment to the school and students.
Please send me any suggestions with name and email contact to: griffintarah@gmail.com

Raptor Athletic Booster Club is heading up an Inaugural Golf Tournament on Feb. 5 at the Links at Stono Ferry. We are seeking 10 athlete parents from AMHS + SOA to join the leadership committee and help put on the event to raise critical funds for our athletes.
Let's be honest, we only have a few more years left to actively support our children's school needs before college. Picture yourself as a kindergarten parent and jump in to help! We promise it will be rewarding and fun!
Did you know Booster funds the end of year sports banquet, senior posters for all athletes, and funds gaps that occur with sports team needs?
To join the Leadership Committee, reply to this email or contact Kat Taylor @ Taylor1351@gmail.com today! Raptor Athletics thanks you in advance for your support of the Golf Tournament in any form, small or big!
P.S. Hold the date for a fun event on Nov 8 at Commonhouse Aleworks! More to come!

They are currently submitting their Semifinalist applications to be reviewed by our Program Reading Committee. After this review, 250 will advance as Regional Finalists, with 150 becoming Coca-Cola Scholars and receiving a $20,000 college scholarship."

Women's and men's cross country ran two excellent races last Thursday evening at the Region VII-AA XC championships at Timberland. Both teams were bested only by Bishop England. Timberland held a very classy ceremony to recognize all of the region's senior XC runners, including 6 of our Raptors (pictures below). The women's team finished with 2 runners in the top ten; the men's team with 4, including Region VII-AA champion, Quinn Swanton ('25). Each of those Raptors earned all-region accolades for their remarkable races. | |
