Maximizing the academic, social, and emotional potential of each student.

Dear Friend of CCSD93,
Run Like a Girl Race:
A Terrific Club Celebration
Yesterday, students from Carol Stream, Western Trails, and Elsie Johnson elementary schools participated in a "Run Like a Girl" race at Jay Stream Middle School.

Each of these elementary schools offer Run Like a Girl clubs, modeled after the national Girls on the Run organization. The clubs meet regularly and focus on leading a healthy lifestyle, fitness, building healthy relationships, expressing feelings, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and gaining self-confidence.
Club meetings begin with community building circles and engage students in discussions and activities focusing on team building, goal setting, and self awareness. Yesterday's race was a culminating celebration of the clubs and the participating students' growth. I thank the club chairs for their dedication. What a tremendous asset to our schools and students! Consider Serving on CCSD93's School Board
The District 93 Board of Education will have three 4-year terms filled at the April 2, 2019 election. Are you a potential candidate?

School Board members play a key role in education.  They:
  • Formulate policy
  • Employ staff
  • Approve financial operations and curriculum
  • Evaluate programs
  • Establish the school year
  • Provide for and supervise school buildings and boundaries
Board members are expected to attend meetings regularly.  They study, discuss and vote on school matters, placing the education of children above any partisan positions, group interest, or personal ambition.  The Board's powers and duties include the broad authority to adopt and enforce the necessary policies for the management of the schools in District 93.  If you're interested in serving on CCSD93's School Board, please visit  www.ccsd93.com/BoardElections

CCSD93 Student/Parent/Teacher Conference
Sign-Up Now Through 11/16
This year across CCSD93, Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences will incorporate the student voice to become Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences, which students are expected to attend with their parents. In the coming weeks, more info will be sent from your child's school on exactly what the new conference format will look like.

CCSD93 Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held Monday and Tuesday, November 19 and 20. This is a great opportunity for parents to connect with their child and their child's teacher about their child's education!

CCSD93's schools will once again offer online scheduling of Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences through PTC Wizard. All parents will need to register a new account this year, even if you had one for last school year. You can sign up for conferences anytime between now and Friday, November 16 at noon.

Visit www.ccsd93.com/PTC for more details.
