City of Vallejo Activates Emergency Operation Center; Update #3
VALLEJO, CA - This release serves as an update to the City's press release " City of Vallejo Activates Emergency Operations Center; Update #2 " that went out today at 2:47 p.m.

The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated at 10:00 a.m. and was deactivated at 4:00 p.m. However, increased staffing will continue through the night. City leaders will continue to monitor and evaluate, and will reactivate the EOC the PSPS situation evolves.

Important messages:

City Services
The Police Department will maintain increased staffing to support fire efforts, and provide additional patrols.

The Fire Department will maintain increased staffing to monitor the Glen Cove fire, and respond to other emergencies.

Vallejo 9-1-1 dispatchers is overwhelmed with calls. Only utilize 9-1-1 for fire and life safety emergencies.

The Public Works Department streets and traffic crews are in field and on standby for downed trees and other debris due to high wind. Residents may utilize See.Click.Fix to report debris in the roadway.

The Water Department staff will be onsite to monitor water pumps and generators throughout the event. In impacted outage areas, customers may experience reduced water pressure.

Vallejo City Hall will be closed Monday, October 28, due to power outages.

Mandatory Water Conservation
The City issued a mandatory water conservation notice. The City is unable to pump raw water for treatment, and is therefore limited to what was pumped in reservoirs pre-event. Outdoor water use is prohibited. Residents must restrict indoor water use as much as possible. The City is working to identify a large enough generator to support operations.

Glen Cove Fire
Roughly 140 acres burned in South Vallejo. Residential evacuations were lifted in Vallejo. Interstate-80 has been re-opened. The fire is 90% contained.

PG&E Community Resource Center
A Community Resource Center will be open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Solano County Fairgrounds, located at 900 Fairgrounds Drive, 94589. The Center will offer restrooms, bottled water, and electronic charging station. The Center is not an overnight shelter.

Vallejo City Unified School District (VCUSD)
There are several schools North of Sonoma Street that lost power. The areas surrounding Patterson and Glen Cove Elementary schools may be affected by fire. As of 1:15 p.m., today, ALL SCHOOLS and OFFICES will be open Monday, October 28th. VCUSD will provide another update at approximately 5:00 p.m. on their homepage.

Traffic Safety
Traffic safety is critical in these events, especially as the sun goes down. Many traffic signals are shut off and dark. Motorists should treat these as four-way stop signs and proceed very carefully.

Ferry Service
Ferry system has deployed their emergency plan and are operating normal hours.
