October is for Hope, Joy, and Wonder!
|
|
Over the last nine months, several of us at Crossroads have worked closely with architects to design our future Middle School building. At Grandparents Day, we shared some of these plans and received lots of positive feedback. These designs will continue to evolve over the next several months, but the work we are doing now is motivated by wanting our students and teachers to have the best possible environment for teaching and learning. If you would like to learn more about our plans for the new building,
please
contact me
to set up a time to meet. I look forward to sharing our hopes and dreams for this new and
inspiring space.

View all Crossroads Photo Galleries on SmugMug!
Because we have so many exciting things happening
on campus, we've made it easier for you to look through all of the photo galleries that are being created throughout the year. By visiting
www.crossroads.smugmug.com
you will be able to look at event pictures and classroom candids whenever you like! On this website, you will have the option to download full-resolution images to keep for yourself as well as order paper prints or gift item prints (such as coffee mugs, magnets, etc.) Of course, links will continue to be shared in the newsletter on a regular basis as well.

Operation
Gratitude
The virtue for the month of November is gratitude. One way we would like to show gratitude is to invite all students and families to donate leftover, excess, or unwanted Halloween candy to send to Operation Gratitude. Operation Gratitude is an organization that assembles care packages for veterans, first responders, and members of the military. Following Halloween, there will be a donation bag set out for students to donate candy during drop-off, as well as donation bags in the Middle and Lower Schools. Student volunteers will assist in sorting, weighing, and packaging the donated candy at school. Thank you for participating in this small act of appreciation!

Do you and/or your children like to skate? Do you enjoy watching exciting Winter Olympic sports? If so, we encourage you to try speedskating with the Upper Valley Speedskating Club (UVSC)! The club is run by Crossroads parents Dan Weinstein and Amelia Ihlo, who are excited to share the sport with our community.
The UVSC mission is to introduce the sport of speedskating to participants of all ages and abilities. As skaters progress, the club will support introduction to racing locally, regionally, and even nationally. If you are interested in joining or learning more, please email Dan Weinstein or Amelia Ihlo.

Why is my Participation in the Crossroads Fund Important?
The tradition of giving at Crossroads is strong. At any level, participation to the Crossroads Fund demonstrates your commitment to our school and its continued success. Participation by our entire community speaks volumes, generates enthusiasm, encourages others to give generously, and sets an example of giving back for our students.
Help us meet our goal by January 1, 2020
