Dr. Billy Ingram pastor of Maranatha Community Church has died.
Born in Alabama , he attended Monroe Jr. High and Morningside High School .
Dr. Billy Ingram was a freelance writer, author, actor, educator, poet and percussionist. As a humanitarian and philanthropist, he seeks to help the poor and downtrodden.
In 1993 he served as a Diplomat and good will Ambassador to Korea , with a delegation of Korean and African American Pastors. In 1994 he led a group of 30 African American Pastors on a tour of Israel , at the request of the Government of Israel and has conducted many trips to both Egypt and Israel
The driving theme of his life is, "to study like it's my first time and preach like it's my last". Billie love life, his family and his ministry. Pastor Billy Ingrams lives a double life.
Not only could you find him in the pulpit spreading the message of the love of Jesus Christ you can also find him behind the camera on the red carpet.
He is a professional photographer for Wire Images a division of Getty Images, which is the largest agency in the world located in 100 plus countries.
Pastor Billy as he is affectionately known has worked with Stevie Wonder on the original hit Ingram authored "The Legacy", a history audio lesson that took off on KJLH. He's participated on the Bible Experience an all African American cast of the bible on audio. He was once the Chaplin for the Los Angeles Lakers; he's a lover of jazz music and has traveled the world more than twice. His favorite thing about ministry is people. He states, "I love people and I love helping people. I also love to study".
He is succeeded by his wife Solombra, sons Bill II, Marian, Karis, Samuel and Solomon.
