The Unification Movement that was initiated by the Unification Church attempts to bring solutions to the problems of the world and humanity. First, the Unification Movement is a movement that can bring an aggressive solution to the issues raised by Communism. For this to be done, the free world should first have a spiritual realization and repentance. Based on this spiritual realization and repentance, all solutions for the human problems will be derived.
For the sake of building a world of goodness, the absolute standard of morality cannot be seen apart from the creator, God, based on His views on the right values because He is the only one who is eternal and unchanging.

I (Richard Panzer) started the Sunday sermon by discussing the passage in Luke 4:3-13, which is about the 3 Temptations of Christ. In Satan’s 1st Temptation, Jesus was asked to put material needs first after his 40 day fast. His answer was to put God, the truth, and spiritual life first. In his 2nd temptation, Satan offered to give Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if he would worship him. Jesus’ answer was that only God should be worshipped. Righteousness is more important than getting power.
In the 3rd Temptation, Satan brought Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple in Jerusalem and urged him to show his authority by throwing himself off and having the angels save him. Jesus refused to use his spiritual power and authority to test God or for a selfish purpose.
Jesus' answers to all three temptations essentially was: my relationship with & obedience to God is most important, no matter what the result is. He was also effectively declaring the 3 Blessings: Myself, my Family/tribe, my Kingdom DON’T BELONG TO YOU!

We know that True Father gained victory over Satan's temptations many times in his life, such as when he shared his meager rice ration with other prisoners in Hungnam and prayed for and forgave his torturer, something that Satan could not do.
In a speech she gave in 2017, True Mother Hyun Shil Kang explained that each of us must get a “certificate” of victory over Satan. Father has also spoken about the 3 judgments each of us must go through. First, the judgment of words or truth. Second, the judgment of personality or will. Third, the judgment of love or heart.
Let us reflect on the worldwide “Temptations” in our time, with an analogy of going to a doctor because of a serious health problem, but getting the wrong diagnosis and an ineffective, if not harmful “cure.”

In this next section, let's take a closer look at the toxic ideologies that have led to massive suffering in the past and are rising again in our world today. These are the satanic temptations on the worldwide level, America, especially, as a providential nation, must overcome.
Communism seeks to create an Ideal World without people fulfilling their individual Portion of Responsibility, and without personal freedom. In North Korea, if discovered to be a Christian, there’s a good chance you will be executed, and your family sent to a concentration camp. In China, if you don’t belong to an approved state-controlled church, you risk being arrested, sent to a prison, work camp, be organ-harvested.
Was Marx really an atheist or was he a Satanist rebelling against God’s sovereignty? Here is a poem he wrote as a young man, before he wrote any of his well-known pieces:
The hellish vapors [that] rise and fill the brain, Till I go mad and my heart is utterly changed. See this sword? The Prince of Darkness sold it to me. For me he beats the time and gives the signs. Ever more broadly I play the dance of death.
As you can see, Marx was obsessed with hatred, death and destruction. And so were all of the famous Communist leaders who put his ideas into practice.

If you think about it, it’s sad that the human race needs the Ten Commandments, which means that our default is to worship a lot of false gods and even do evil things in the name of God. The 2nd King's book, Our Father Forsaken, makes it clear that we cannot abandon either the Old or the New Testament if we truly want to know & obey God, and the Divine Principle makes that even more clear.
The founders of America knew both the Old and New Testaments very well and that provided important guidance for our Constitution, but as America drifts away from Biblical values, it increasingly profanes what should be holy. It fails to honor those we are indebted to. Acts of evil are rationalized by many in our universities. Modern ideologies teach there is no truth or authority that needs to be honored and that it’s justifiable to steal, covet, lie, & murder. To someone who doesn’t understand the truth and love of God, these commandments likely seem to be an inconvenient hindrance to fulfilling their own agendas.

The Bible says “No Other Gods,” but Communism says “There is NO GOD! We will be saved through class warfare in the name of the Proletariat! We will make everyone bow down to the Vanguard of the Revolution and the leaders of the oppressed!”
What about the 3rd commandment, “don’t do evil in God’s name?”
Since Communism denies that God exists, we might say that they are not doing evil in His name. But after the Bolshevik Revolution, after getting rid of thousands of observant Orthodox Church priests, the Soviets infiltrated the remaining churches with KGB-controlled “priests” who submitted their sermons to the Soviet government. In the following decades, the Soviet Union successfully infiltrated Communist ideology into 352 denominations/ churches around the world through the World Council of Churches. These represent more than a half BILLION Christians, including the Orthodox, Anglican, Baptist, Evangelical, Lutheran, Methodist, and United churches. Without fail these churches defend Soviet & CCP actions around the world and spread their propaganda.

What about National Socialism? There were real problems in Germany of the 1930s, but what was Hitler's prescription, and did it make things better or worse for the German people? Sometimes Hitler made references to God, but it was a god that endorsed the superiority of the Aryan Race. Once he even said he wished that Islam had invaded all of Europe because then the Germans, instead of being weakened by Christian ideas about love and forgiveness, would have conquered the world.
What about the 3rd commandment, “Don’t Do Evil in God’s Name?” In public speeches, Hitler portrayed himself and the Nazi movement as faithful Christians. In 1928 Hitler said in a speech: "We tolerate no one in our ranks who attacks the ideas of Christianity... in fact our movement is Christian." But according to Joseph Goebbels, chief propagandist for the Nazi Party, Hitler hated Christianity. In an April 8, 1941 entry, Goebbels wrote
"He hates Christianity, because it has crippled all that is noble in humanity."
Though raised a Catholic, Hitler "believed neither in God nor in conscience", but had contempt for its central teachings. "In Hitler's eyes, Christianity was a religion fit only for slaves; he detested its ethics in particular. Its teaching was a rebellion against the natural law of selection through struggle and the survival of the fittest."

Some Nazis, such as Hans Kerrl, who served as Hitler's Minister for Church Affairs, advocated "Positive Christianity". Kerrl accused dissident churchmen of failing to appreciate the Nazi doctrine of "Race, blood and soil" and gave the following explanation of the Nazi conception of "Positive Christianity", telling a group of submissive clergy in 1937:
Dr Zoellner and [Catholic Bishop of Munster] Count Galen have tried to make clear to me that Christianity consists in faith in Christ as the son of God. That makes me laugh... No, Christianity is not dependent upon the [Apostles'] Creed... True Christianity is represented by the party, and the German people are now called by the party and especially the Fuehrer to a real Christianity... the Fuehrer is the herald of a new revelation.
Those of "non-Aryan" descent were expelled from the church, and many clergy, particularly in annexed regions, were arrested or murdered. From the beginning in 1935, the Gestapo arrested and jailed over 2,720 clerics who were interned at Germany's Dachau concentration camp, leading to over 1,000 deaths of clergy.
While a gas chamber was built at the main Dachau camp, it was reportedly never used for mass extermination. Instead, mass executions were carried out by shooting, and thousands of sick and weak prisoners were sent to the Hartheim "euthanasia" killing center in Austria to be murdered with gas. Thousands of Soviet prisoners of war were also systematically executed by firing squad.
Murders and persecutions galvanized leaders like Bishop Clemens von Galen to speak out more forthrightly. His sermons influenced the White Rose resistance movement of students in Munich and, in the city of Lubeck, inspired 3 priests, Johannes Prassek, Eduard Muller and Hermann Lange. With their Lutheran counterpart, Rev. Karl Friedrich Stellbrink, they were beheaded in 1943 after a show trial in a Nazi court.

Sang Hun Lee’s Attempt to Meet Hitler in the Spirit World
Dr. Sang Hun Lee, the director of the Unification Thought Institute, who also developed much of the Victory over Communism education material used in the VOC education conducted throughout the world, passed away in 1997. After his death, Young Soon Kim received Dr. Lee’s messages from the spirit world in 1997 and again in 1998. These were published as a book called “Life in the Spirit World” in English in 1998. In the 5th chapter, Dr. Lee described his meetings in the spirit world with major world figures like Karl Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Hideki Tojo, the leading General and 40th Prime Minister of Japan.
Here is Dr. Lee’s message from the spirit world describing what he saw when he made an effort to meet with Adolf Hitler:
Of all the murderers of history, Hitler inflicted the cruelest slaughter. I witnessed a tremendous mass of people, all of whom were bound in chains, shouting, “Kill him! Kill him!” The crowd was so vast I could not see its end. They shouted, “He slaughtered millions of people as if they were animals.” No matter how miserable a man’s life can be on the earth, no scene that horrible could possibly take place on earth.
I went into the crowd and met a young woman. She was slender & quite pretty. When I asked her how she was killed, she turned her head and asked me not to bring that up. So I approached the subject with the heart that God had conveyed. That moved her mind.
She said that she was murdered as we see that person (Hitler) being murdered. What she meant was that she was naked when she was killed, and soldiers came and looked at her as much as they wanted. They put her into the gas chamber and whenever they wanted to look at her, they opened the door and looked at her until she became unspeakably miserable. And then, finally, they released the poison gas that killed her. (May 20, 1998)

You might think Fascism is something that would never happen here in the U.S. In December, 2024, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was gunned down outside a Manhattan hotel. Six weeks before the father of two was executed, the suspect Luigi Mangione mused that the Healthcare CEO "had it coming.” So if there is something you don't like in America, don’t bother to dialog and persuade people about your ideas, just kill them to make it better!
The killer, 26-year-old Luigi Mangione, quickly achieved online celebrity status. A video projection of his face was cheered at a rock concert. He even had a meme coin created in his image. The fact that he’d acted as judge, jury and executioner of the father of two children seemed to bother no one.
Luigi didn’t study how to improve healthcare and make effort to spread what he learned. He embodied a leftist fascistic perspective that said capitalism is evil and that violence will solve the nation’s problems by bringing about socialism.
A poll of registered voters found that 41% supported the assassination or were ambivalent about it. The younger the voter, the greater the support for political killings. Sixty-seven percent of voters aged 18 to 29 were supportive of, or ambivalent about, the execution, an indication that the lack of moral education in America’s public education system has been effective.
Meanwhile in Minneapolis, Antifa-related grafitti called for murdering the police. We have to deal with the shocking fact: toxic ideologies are persuading idealistic young adults that America is a bad, even evil, place.

| | Understanding Father and Mother’s Conflicting Understandings of “Only Begotten” | |

I have always wondered why we use the term “Only Begotten” given the Exposition of the Divine Principle (hereafter referred to as EDP or just DP) teaching and TrueFather’s (hereafter referred to as “Father”) words. When our members hear them, what do they think they mean? In Seminary I learned how this terminology developed in the councils of Nicaea and Chalcedon and, as a result, wondered why we adopted them. As most people know, Christianity affirms that Jesus did not have a human father—God was Jesus’ father.[1]
Father, on the other hand, has indicated that Jesus did have a human father—Zachariah. The EDP sections on the “Principle of Creation” and “Christology” clearly distinguish Father’s teaching from traditional Christian theology. So, I take issue with the use of the term “Only Begotten” because EDP and Father’s teachings clearly indicate that the Christian understanding of the words “Only” and “Begotten” are incorrect and do not correlate to Unification Theology. In our theology, Adam and Eve were meant to be the first perfected, true human beings—true parents—not the only true parents.
[A FamilyFed pastor] decided to ask Jin-Choon Kim (former President of Cheongshim Graduate School of Theology who gave officially approved lectures to Family Fed members on the new Only Begotten Daughter theology). why Mother was using the term Only Begotten Daughter since he had never heard Father use this term? Jin-Choon Kim then told him that he and other theologians had recommended it to her . He said that he and the other theologians had discussed the use of the term and reached consensus over its appropriateness. They told Mother that she could adopt this term to help clarify and proclaim her true identity.
The whole idea of OBS runs completely against the Principle view of Christology. Are we suddenly going to subscribe to the Nicene Creed? If so, we should have done so 60 years ago and saved ourselves so much persecution. Jesus was the ONLY begotten son because he was God the Son and the 2nd person of the Trinity. No room for anyone else. In other words, no one else can become like Jesus because Jesus is God because he was begotten by God.
Is this what we believe or teach? As such, Jesus has existed since the beginning. The church teaches anathema on anyone who says there was a timewhen he was not. Has True Mother existed from the very beginning before the creation of the world? Also, God crudely speaking, was his Dad. His mother wasa virgin and God was his Dad. A pagan idea deeply offensive to Jews and Muslims.
