10 Days Until Spring Fling!

Pastor's Update

Hi Parkway --

Over the last week, I've heard several people tell me that time is just flying by. That staff and I are feeling that way too! Between Spring Fling on April 1st, Palm Sunday on April 2nd, and then Easter one week after that on the 9th -- so much of what we've worked toward for months is almost here!

I wanted to give you a quick update for where we stand on all the things that are coming up.

Saturday, March 25th -- from 8am to 12pm -- will be Parkway's annual Church Workday. We'll mulch the flower beds, clean up our buildings and grounds, and make sure everything is picture perfect for all of the events and people we will host in the weeks to come.

The very next day is a baby shower for Pastor Kat, Andrew, and Baby Kyah (who will be here soon!).

Plan to be there right after the 10:30am service this Sunday, March 26th, in the Ministry Center. It will be a great time of food and celebrating the exciting days ahead.

The following weekend, Saturday, April 1st, is Spring Fling!

Thanks to all who have helped get Spring Fling off the ground. From staff, to people who have done this before, to people who are in this for the first time -- none of this would be possible without you!

As we close in on April 1st, here are a few reminders of ways we are still working to be 100% ready. Thanks to you, the list is not long!

On Friday, March 31st, beginning at 3.30pm, a crew will begin setting up game booths, signs, and the craft market that will take over the Worship Center, so that Saturday morning set up will be that much easier. If you're available to help start Spring Fling set up, please be here on Friday afternoon!

If you're planning to get some eggs here to help meet our goal of 15,000 eggs, make sure and get those turned in as soon as you can!

Finally -- one area where we know we will need a few more volunteers is directing traffic for bounce houses. We will need people to make sure kids have a wristband (meaning they have a waiver on file) and to make sure our bounce houses don't get too overcrowded. If you'd be willing to take a shift, or even just help for an hour -- please reach out to Becky Betz, Director of Children's Ministries at rbetz@parkwayumc.org.

I am so excited for Spring Fling to take shape and to welcome the community back to Parkway. It is going to be a great day that shows what is possible when we work together as a community of people that follow Jesus.

The day after Spring Fling will kick-off Holy Week with worship on Palm Sunday. Watch for another email next week for all the details of Holy Week and how we will worship and celebrate together.

Parkway -- there is much to celebrate and be thankful for in the weeks ahead. I'm excited to be right there in the middle of it with you.
