2016 Mentorship Program

Our AFP Monterey Bay Chapter offers members an exciting opportunity to transform their fundraising  careers through its Mentorship Program.

The Mentorship Program formalizes a mentoring relationship in a structured program that offers four
group workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions committed to meeting your personal and career goals.

Our Mentors provide their mentees with an experienced friend who is there to help in any number of  situations. 
And mentees provide fresh ideas and coaching opportunities for someone looking to sharpen  their professional tools.

Letter from the President
Spring is in bloom (or so my allergies keep reminding me!) and we are rolling out some great programs for our chapter - be sure to register for the oh-so-practical course on planned giving on April 21! 

We are also well into planning the Summer Fundraising Summit on June 21 with a line-up of presenters and topics that are sure to sharpen your skills and put some new tools in your belt.

I'm also very proud to announce that our chapter has once again received the Ten Star Award from AFP International, a distinction that only a third of all chapters earn for achieving specific goals that serve our members and further the professionalism of our industry.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) announces that AFP Monterey Bay Chapter has been named a 2015 Ten Star Chapter.


Every year, AFP, the largest association of professional fundraisers in the world, honors chapters for achieving goals that align with key objectives in its long-range strategic plan. Chapters receive the Ten Star Award for performing specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy.

The full-day conference will include a General Session with Mr. Love, eight breakout sessions, lunch  table topics, refreshments, information tables, a wine reception and many free raffle prizes. 

On-site parking is free, and a limited number of reduced-rate hotel rooms are available.

Is the Summit for you?

Last year's attendees came from the Monterey Peninsula as well as Silicon Valley and parts of San  Francisco. They included fundraising professionals and volunteers. Executive Directors, Directors of Development, Planned Giving, Major Gift and Stewardship Officers, trustees of both non-profit and funding organizations, business executives from these organizations, consultants, and board members from the International AFP board. 

Conference Pricing

AFP members (any chapter): $90 per person

Non-AFP members: $105 per person

Includes full-day conference, light breakfast, lunch, wine reception, free parking
