On September 29, 2022, Nassan’s Place celebrated our “10 Year Anniversary & Annual Community Appreciation Gala" at the Galloping Hill Golf Club in Kenilworth, NJ as we honored a few amazing individuals, organizations, and corporations who have helped us to enrich and make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by Autism.

There were many highlights from the evening which included a big announcement from New Jersey Congressman Donald M. Payne Jr. Due to his efforts in Congress he was able to secure a $750,000 grant to be used towards our new state of the art Autism center.

The grant moves us closer towards our $2.1 million dollar goal.

Nassan's Place receives $50,000 donation from Dr. Alexander Milman of Lotus Smiles, an employer to one

of the parents' we serve

One of the highlights from Nassan's Place,"10 Year Anniversary Celebration & Annual Community Appreciation Gala" was a presentation by Dr. Alexander Milman of Lotus Smiles in Jersey City and his family along with some of his staff.

Dr. Milman presented Nassan's Place with a $50,000 donation due in part to Renee, one of his employees and an Awesome Autism mom to Christopher.

Dr. Milman, saw the challenges that Renee had faced over her 12 years of employment with him, having a child on the Autism Spectrum. He also saw a positive difference in her years later and she shared with him that she had found an organization, Nassan's Place, that was helping her to address some of those challenges, including a summer program in the midst of Covid.

Dr. Milman was pleased to see that there was an organization that was helping to make a difference in the lives of Renee and her son, Christopher, and other children and families affected by Autism.

Dr. Milman also donated a beautiful basket full of dental goodies for our silent auction and provided a $50 off coupon for services at Lotus Smiles and stated that every $50 off would be donated back to Nassan's Place.

Imagine, if we had more employers like Dr. Milman who understood the challenges that their employees face with having a child on the autism spectrum and helped them opposed to giving up and letting them go.

Dr. Milman, we thank you and applaud you not just for your generous $50,000 donation but for your support and compassion. You are TRULY a "HERO" and an example for other employers to follow.

Nassan's Place Meet & Greet

and Private Screening For

Netflix Series Ada Twist, Scientist

Episode "A Wheel with a Twist"

Nassan’s Place was excited to host a Meet & Greet on September 28th with the sister of Nassan, the inspiration for Nassan's Place, Niya Wright who wrote an episode for Netflix’s animated series Ada Twist, Scientist, Season 3 episode, “A Wheel with a Twist.”

The episode introduces, Cousin Nassan who is nonverbal and on the autism spectrum. Along with his mom, Auntie Nadine (inspired by Nassan's Place president & founder and Nassan's mom).

The episode beautifully educates about Autism.

Niya was joined by the incredibly talented Justice Killebrew, the non verbal actor on the Autism Spectrum that voiced Cousin Nassan's

sounds in the episode.

It was a great night as children and families affected by Autism came out for a private screening at Cityplex12.

We were truly honored to have in attendance, the phenomenal show runner, of Ada Twist, Scientist, Kerri Grant, who was able to see firsthand the impact of the episode on the families in attendance. They were beaming with pride and joy to see them represented on the big screen.

We would like to thank, Kerri, Netflix, and producer Chris Nee (creator of DocMcStuffin), and Barak and Michelle Obama of Higher Ground Productions for bringing more Awareness to Autism while also educating others.

To view the episode go to Netflix.com it's a must see for the entire family.
