100+ Thanksgiving Meal Ingredient Boxes Still Needed
| |
Thanksgiving is three weeks away, and the Holly Springs Food Cupboard needs your help. Every year, the Cupboard provides clients a box of ingredients to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner, thanks to donations from people like you!
This year, the Cupboard anticipates providing 450 households with Thanksgiving ingredient meal boxes. Many people have committed to gathering boxes, but more than 100 boxes are still needed.
Would you or your organization be willing to donate a Thanksgiving meal box? Here's how to help:
- Click here to visit SignUp Genius and let us know how many boxes you would like to provide and the day you can drop off your boxes at the Cupboard.
- Gather the ingredients. Want to make it really easy? Use this link to fill your shopping cart at Walmart in advance for your drive-up pickup!
- Place the items in a closed box, and deliver the box to the Cupboard on your scheduled day!
Families will receive either a gift card donated by Jacobs and the contractors building the FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies plant or a turkey donated by Coldwell Banker Howard, Perry, and Walston to go with the Thanksgiving meal boxes.
Thank you so much for considering helping share ingredients for a Thanksgiving meal with people experiencing food insecurity.

Giving Tuesday is coming!
Mark your calendar for Tuesday, Nov. 28: Giving Tuesday, a global celebration of giving, collaboration, and generosity.
Every donation, no matter the size, to the Holly Springs Food Cupboard will feed our neighbors, friends, family, and community across Wake County.
There’s a big need at the Cupboard – over 400 student bags to fulfill the need in December – and your support can provide essential foods like cereal, peanut butter, and fruit for children in our community each week.
Be a part of a global celebration of giving and join us for Giving Tuesday. Can't wait until then? Get us started by donating today!

Around the Cupboard Last Month
Grapes, Grains & Giving: The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce Grapes, Grains & Giving event presented by Benjamin Passwaters Nest Realty was a wonderful event! Thank you so much to all the fabulous sponsors who made it such a success with $30,000 raised! We are so grateful!
The 12 Oaks Community doesn’t happen without a ton of volunteers, so THANK YOU from the bottoms of our hearts for all your hard work to make this such an incredible success!

Thank you so much to the fantastic folks at Amgen for dropping off these amazing non-perishables!
Please say hello to our most recent Birthday Hero, Asher! In lieu of presents for his birthday, he opted for donations to the Cupboard. We sure are thankful!
|
Ethan and Payton stopped by to drop off some non-perishables. What makes this pair so special is that they are given a food allowance they can spend on whatever foods they would like... and these two decided to check out our "current needs list" on our website and shop from it! These siblings are SUPERSTARS in our eyes!
The amazing team at Thrive Skin + Wellness recently held their customer appreciation event and encouraged everyone to bring in non-perishable donations when they attended. Not only were they gracious enough to drop off the donations, but they also presented our Executive Director with a really nice check to help fill in the gap to purchase foods we really needed! Thank you so much!
Please join us in welcoming Local Time Brewing as our newest drop-off location for the Cupboard! Local Time Brewing is located at 300 South Main St., Ste. 204, here in Holly Springs, and they offer amazing brewed-on-site beers, wines, snacks, and of course some great merch! Now when you stop by for a quick cold one you can also drop off a few canned goods, and they will ensure it gets brought over to our Cupboard for you.
When Dominick Palumbo turned 13, instead of gifts he asked his friends to donate food so that he and his sweet Mom could drop them off to us. Thank you so much, Dominick, for being a true Hunger Hero!
The rain didn’t stop hard chargers when it decided to pour down on the North Carolina Brewery Running Series inaugural run at Bombshell Beer Company! Thanks to everyone who showed up and for the support shown to our Cupboard.
The Holly Springs Rotary Club is a true class act! After holding a food drive for us last month, they decided to still do more and stopped by to drop off 250 reusable bags that we use for students. Rotary members also dropped of a financial donation to purchase items for the student bags. Thank you!
Pictured here are three of our amazing volunteers (and residents of Morgan Park subdivision): Heidi, Cariann, and Dianne. These ladies coordinated a huge "Fill the Pick-Up" Food Drive that not only brought in non-perishables but also raised money to donate! Thank you for all your hard work both inside and outside of the Cupboard walls!
We are so thankful to the McCardle family and friends who continue to support the Food Cupboard with Love from Sky donations! Last month, they brought in much-needed food as an act of kindness to our community. We encourage you to participate by creating your own random act of kindness as well!
F3 is a great example to the community. They recently rebuilt the front ramp at the Cupboard, ensuring everyone can continue to use it safely. F3 also had the materials for the project donated. The best part was that F3 had a team of fathers and sons - dads teaching the next generation the valuable skill of construction while sharing the importance of giving back to the community. A win for everyone!
