Leader Board

Sorry that the subject of this month's Newsletter is similar to last month! Considering all the emails, discussions and other correspondences where people ask  or mention the same things, it seemed appropriate to repeat some of the things that keep coming up.

Over 100,000 (and 164,699 in March & April) performances is very significant considering there were 169,000 inserted in all of 2014. This continues to show how much is coming together and the huge gain in cooperation and collaboration. Thank you  Jean-Luc, Don, Terry, Emmanuel, Michelle and our huge friend & teacher who have helped immensely this year.  We are also excited to work with our new collaborators and hope we can support your efforts to compile your National rankings and make sure your athletes are well represented in these World rankings.

Reminders & Action

Do it now!
How many times have you said I'm going to _______?We hope that several of the things we've done of late make it really easy for you to do _____ in the rankings. Below are some helpful links to these and other things you can do right now!

Inaccuracies & Error Reporting
Many of you tell us you don't report inaccurate marks because you don't want to tattle on an athlete or something similar. You also tell us that you don't want to bother us because you know how busy we are. Most of the inaccurate performances that either you or we find in the rankings are actually either John Seto's processing / programming errors or a typo in the results we processed (97% of the performances in the system are NOT athlete submitted - they come from meet results found on the web and performance lists / meet results that are sent to us).
  • Performances on every page are now links to easily report inaccuracies and make it easier for us to address then reply to you.
  • There is "Correct Meet Information" button on each meet results page - this makes it easy to address then reply to you too.
  • Click Contact here or on MastersRankings.com
  • Email ([email protected], [email protected] or [email protected])
  • Call (845) 635-9487
Send Complete Meet Results
Once you have logged in, you can paste or upload results easily by clicking on the appropriate button where ever it appears (registered athletes' menu, meets, meet results, paste results, upload results).  You can even proceed to insert most of these. Contact us if you want to help but need some guidance.

Ranked Athlete Spotlight

Many Masters Athletes happen to discover the things like MastersRankings and All-American Awards which enhance the masters' experience and improves their lives. Roger exemplifies this and it has made a huge difference in his life.  He started competing in local competitions then discovered MastersRankings.  Roger set a goal to become top 25 US ranked then Top 10.  He discovered All-American Awards and set a goal to achieve the standard in all events.  A multitude of top 10 rankings, All-American Awards in 27 events and 28 National Championships later, Roger is contemplating his next goal to conquer!

Funding Plan - could use your help
Our funding plan is to secure short term funding through your donations and major contributions while contacting corporate sponsors and applying for grants. We and some athletes are working on getting Under Armour, major sports leagues and teams (NBA, NFL & MLB), Robert Herjavec and Richard Branson to support this site . We could use your help getting through to these and any other companies and people who may be interested in supporting our mission to inspire people to be active and healthier plus increase participation in Masters Athletics. Please email me or call me if you want to be a major contributor and / or can help us secure sponsors.

By the Numbers & Meet Results
Numbers since last newsletter:
  • 100,644 performances added (772 by athletes)
  • Representing 26,490 athletes from 106 countries
  • 11,138 new athletes listed
Complete Meet Results Added for (in order of number of perfomances):
Performance lists from Poland, Austria, Spain, Switzerland and UK plus the IAAF Indoor performances were also inserted (some of these were complete national rankings lists). There are incorrect age groups in some of these due to only having birth years with the meet results. This will be corrected when we update athlete information.

The coming months
The goal is to make these progressive lists as accurate throughout the year so they are more useful for athletes (especially in preparations for WMA championships). Ask your  national representatives to work with us. We can help them compile your national rankings and they can help us keep the WMA Regional and World rankings up-to-date throughout the year. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. The site we conceived two years ago is coming together thanks to you.

Sincerely,
John Seto
